We five sit in the living room as the minutes crawl by, I look at the time to see it's only 11 PM.

"So if you didn't give me the box then who did?" I ask my uncle and father as if they know the answer.

They both looked at each other hoping the other had the answer.

"We don't know. Maybe one of the proxies?" My dad says as he looks at his brother.

Uncle trendy shakes his head as he rubs his chin.

"No, no one knew about it besides us." He says refuting
to his brothers and him.

I look at the box in the middle of the table and think of what my dad said about what it does to your memories.

"It didnt recall my memories when I touched it or made me cry like it did with mom." I state.

The two look at me in shock and daddy grabs my hand. I suddenly get a flash back. There's screaming and demonic roaring in the background as children whimpering can be heard in darkness. Suddenly light bursts in and tiny screams ring in my ears, I pull my hand back.

"What's wrong?" My dad asks.

I break into a cold sweat and try to sort my thoughts. I tell them what I saw and the brothers look at each other.

"That was my memory of the first encounter with the first slender. He..." he stopped and a somber look over took the worry in his face.

"What?" My mom asks.

Trendy takes over.

"Slender, Offender, Splender, and I were hiding in a closet when he murdered our mother... then tried to kill us." He explains in sadness.

This explains why I never heard my father or his brothers speaking of his parents. My mother looks shocked and grabs her husband's hands that rest folded on the table. He looks at her and rests their foreheads together. They do this to comfort each other. I grab rest my left hand on my mothers hands and my right hand on my uncles.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't know." I say sadly.

"Its ok we dont really talk about it. That's why splendor is stuck in a child's like state of mind. We think he refuses to come to terms and move on from that day." My uncle explains.

We three nod understanding.

We all sit there for awhile longer and talk to each other. The conversation becomes lighter and we all catch my parents up on what happened since they were gone. I mentally leave the conversation and focus on the box sitting in the middle of the table. What they are saying to each other slowly fades away and turns into a high pitch ringing.

I become light headed and hear myself heavily breathing. I hear voices whisper in my ears as I stare at it. They are to quite to understand what they are saying but just loud enough to notice, then one tells into my ear.

"Let me out!"

I suddenly grab the box and throw it across the kitchen. It hits the wall and falls to the grown. I stand up and start to run to it but my father holds my back as Jeff kicks it out of the house and (Y/N) closes the back door.

"I gotta let them out! They need my help!" I scream and try to break free.

My uncle and dad talk me down.

"You can't help them! Their souls are bound to the box and are stuck their forever!" My uncle says.

"Plus you dont know what will happen if you open it. No one knows!" My dad yells.

I calm down as the voices leave. We all stand still and I feel everyone's eyes on me. My mom walks up to me and rubs my back.

"Maybe we should go to bed." She says in a calming voice.

I nod and shuffle upstairs. I change into my pjs as Jeff comes in and starts to speak to me. His voice is just a muffled sound to me as I crawl in bed. He pulls the covers up and kisses my forehead, his face is worried. As he turns away I grab his hand as I am quickly taken by sleep.

"I love you Jeff." I say before falling asleep.

That night I dreamt that the first slender opened my closet door and I was looking up at a disfigured slender. His head was a long oval and his arms and legs were stretched out like he was pulled from all limbs. He leans down and I see his face. He has no eyes but a mouth. He drools clear fluid but when it touches my knees it burns my skin. He let's out a low purr.

"Check on the butcher tomorrow Nichol." He says in a low purr.
