"So do you think he has anything planned?" Michelle asked me.

I stabbed my salad with a little more force than necessary. "It's Parker. I'd be surprised if he even knew what Valentine's Day was."

Michelle chuckled as I ate my disfigured salad leaf.

"I'm going out tomorrow night," Emmett informed me, as he took a seat next to me at my lunch table.

"Going to take that someone special out?" I teased.

"Something like that."

I rolled my eyes, and he flashed me a smile before heading outside.

"Who knows?" Michelle said, as I took another bite of my salad. "Maybe Parker is a secret romantic."

"Yeah, and maybe the world is flat and the moon is made of cheese," I deadpanned, before finishing off my salad. "I'm going to class."

"We still have five minutes left of lunch."

"All of this talk about Valentine's Day has thoroughly sickened me." I tossed my trash into the trash can before heading out of the lunchroom towards my locker.

"Hey," Daniel called, jogging to catch up with me.

"Hey yourself," I replied, avoiding eye contact with him.

"Do you have plans for tomorrow?"

I reached my locker, ignoring him as I opened the lock.

But he leaned against the lockers next to me, patiently awaiting my answer.

"I don't know yet," I answered, truthfully.

"You should come over."

"What I do know is that's not going to happen."

"Come on Em," Daniel said, furrowing his eyebrows. "We have fun together."

"I don't want to have fun," I said, pulling out the books I needed for my next class. "Especially not with you."

"So I'm just good for a one-night stand then?"

"I told you it was a mistake," I said, as I exchanged the books currently in my backpack with the ones I'd need for my next class. "And I apologized for that. But it takes two to tango buddy."

"So make it up to me by coming over tomorrow," Daniel said, clearly ignoring the last part of my sentence.

"What part of no are you not getting here?" I asked, slinging my backpack over my shoulder before shutting my locker.

He flashed me a smile.

"Let me spell this out for you," I said, locking my locker before turning to face him. "What we had, whatever it was, is over. We are done."

And with that I walked away.

"Happy Valentine's Day!" Emmett greeted, as I came out into the kitchen.

"You're not the person I was hoping to hear that from," I muttered, opening the refrigerator.

I was wearing a red sundress in the spirit of Valentine's Day. The bust was a bow, and it came down to just above mid-thigh. I'd paired it with a pair of white, eyelet lace Keds.
