{Unexpected Reunion}

"Daisy?"

Jungkook was at a complete loss for words as the said person gave a slight wave, "Long time no see Jungkook." Daisy smiled.

Even through the horrors of the zombie apocalypse, she was still looking like an angel. The springy, lively curls in her golden hair remained perfect, her warmth still present. No wonder Hoseok and Daisy made a perfect match. Jungkook found it blinding seeing so much radiance from the sunny couple.

"Wait- you two know each other?" Hoseok spoke, finger pointing between the two individuals.

"We kinda went to school together... " Jungkook nervously chuckled

"Were you two a-"

"God no!" Jungkook laughed out,  "If she was going to hook up with anyone in high school, it would have been Park Jimin." he finished, remembering how inseparable the two dancers were from each other. They were ballet partners after all.

"Park Jimin huh?" Hoseok spoke in a concerned matter. Daisy couldn't help but smile at her boyfriend's possessive reaction.

"Oh don't get so worked up Hobi." Daisy chuckled, slapping the orange haired male playfully on the back. But the lightheartedness of the van was soon replaced by sorrow once the smile fell from Daisy's face,

"Have you heard anything from Jimin?" She asked Jungkook, a glint of hope in her eyes.

As much as Jungkook wanted to say yes, he could only frown, "No, sorry. I was out on the field the day of the outbreak... I just ran for dear life, didn't look back." Jungkook tried at all costs to push down the memories trying to resurface. He had thrown that day in a vault and locked it up tight. He never wanted to recall a day like that ever again.

Jungkook found himself thinking for a second, "How did you get out? You would've had ballet right?" Jungkook asked, hoping he wasn't getting onto a touchy subject.

Daisy sighed, "Yeah. Jimin was actually the one who helped me out. But we got separated in the crowd." Jungkook watched on in pity as Daisy's eyes shifted to the side and became glazed with a glassy layer of tears. She was quick to wipe them away. "I eventually escaped on my own and stumbled towards the cafe down the road from the school."

Hoseok ruffled his wind swept hair, "Thats where I was." he paused, as if he was pondering whether or not to continue, "I was trying to escape with my best friend but unfortunately the world was against us." He sighed recalling how Namjoon and himself were torn apart.

"I remember Hoseok tried to help me, heck- he fell out of a van for me." Daisy chuckled. Hoseok on the other hand went red in the face as he shied away, "Hoseok can get scared easily but when it comes down to life or death he's the bravest man I know." Daisy finished proudly, taking one hand off the steering wheel to give Hoseok's shoulder a squeeze of reassurance.

Jungkook couldn't help but find Hoseok and Daisy's relationship refreshing amongst the chaos. It was a rare sight to see two people so happy these days, after all it was hard to find happiness amongst a world of the dead.

Jungkook ran a hand through his hair as he made himself comfortable leaning against the back of the van. Hoseok decided to wind down the front windows for a bit of fresh air to calm them after there daring escape.

As the car engine sung to the lone country roads, Hoseok relished the roaring winds that twirled in his faded orange hair and whistled in his ears. The lush green of the surrounding trees passed in a blur as the van sped down the dirt road.

It took Jungkook a minute or too to process the fact that he had no idea where they were going. They just kind of escaped and that was it?

Trailing his eyes over to his hyung, Jungkook spoke, "Hoseok?"

Hoseok found himself being pulled back into reality at the sound of Jungkook's voice, "Hmm?"

"Where exactly are we going?" Jungkook questioned.

Hoseok froze up when he noticed Daisy slither a flat smirk through crooked lips. She tried to contain herself, but failed once a fit of laughter escaped her.

"Hey! What's so funny?" Hoseok frowned,

By this stage Daisy was wiping tears from her eyes, "Your... your the navigator and you didn't e-even tell your superior where we're going." Daisy laughed out.

Hoseok face palmed his forehead and mentally cursed himself for not doing his job properly. It was his first day as a navigator and he found himself doing terribly.

Hoseok straightened up in his seat as he regained his composure, "There's been rumours going around between camps recently." Hoseok spoke, "Apparently there's a guy who's crazy good with chemistry... heck, he even created a temporary vaccine."

Jungkook's brain formulated no thoughts other than to register that he was shocked, "A temporary vaccine? That's impossible!" Jungkook spoke wide eyed.

Hoseok smiled as he shook his head, "It's real. Camps on the east side have been passing it around for a few weeks now."

Daisy tightened her grip on the wheel, "That's why we're heading east. He's rumoured to be staying at camp Beta at this very moment."

Hoseok closed the front two windows to make his voice clearer, "He found a temporary vaccine with no human experimentation. If anyone can find a cure it's him."

Jungkook found Hoseok's words reassuring. His voice remained warm as he assured Jungkook that no harm would be done to him anymore. And for the first time in years, Jungkook actually felt a sense of safety.

"Well then, I can't wait to meet him."
