Laura seeing the other four, and soon Mark himself after his bragging-performance, turn into animals of their own, had her dumbfounded and multiple after kinds of surprise for a good while; Paul was in his own share of surprise, however it was quickly gone from his expression as logic took his mind and he accepted it as the truth.
Spike, while definitely surprised at the outcome and having not seen it possible to meet someone who also was like him in this kind of way, also came to the realization he must accept this. He didn't know how he could accept it, this seemed really coincidental to meet them like this, but accept it he did, and while the Pack were going through the forest on their hunt, the other three stayed back.
"You okay there, Laura?" Paul said jokingly as he looked at her surprised face.
She nodded slowly, but didn't make any sign to look away from the straight-forward direction she was looking in.
"Are you really surprised? Didn't we see Raven transform into an eagle?" Paul said.
Thinking back on the memory, Laura realised Paul was right. Raven had indeed transformed when Hell had kidnapped them, however Paul had been knocked out by that point. Laura made sure to comment on this, it only caused Paul to snicker though.
"Hell's medicine was strong, probably because he feared I was a strong magician, but it still didn't cut my senses off."
Laura sighed as she felt her neck right her left hand, then she lowered her head finally, "I still remember that, it hurt when that needle hit me."
Spike turned to her, "what happened afterwards was probably worse, but you ended up fine, so focus on now okay?"
Paul leant forward to get a good view of Spike while showing a cheeky smile, "Worse as in a mindless zombie? I can see how that's worse."
Spike shrugged, "It couldn't have been worse honestly, you've been through it all."
"What about mindless vampiric zombies?" Paul said.
Spike sighed and began standing to his feet, "Don't be ridiculous."
Paul stood up after him, he wasn't done yet, "What about being forced to have gills so you always have to carry a bottle of water around?"
Spikes eyebrow rose as he stared Paul in the eyes directly, "Are you purposefully being ridiculous? Naturally having to have a beak the size of a Pelicans would be the worst thing, you wouldn't be able to talk."
"I think Paul needs that right now" Laura said as she got to her own feet.
"Agreed" Spike said as he copied Pauls cheeky smile.
Pauls cheeks puffed up a slight amount as he rolled his eyes, then once releasing the air in his cheeks he pointed towards the forest, "Here we go."
The Pack had returned, human forms now, and it seemed that behind each of them were two bodies each of the same type of animal. It was just the skin, they had probably skinned them themselves in the moment, but the skin looked real bright brown now unlike the dark furred dogs from before, though they could've just been different animals.
Once the Pack got close, piling the skin up together, James and Sam began fetching wood which were piled onto an empty clearing. Once piled, Jay's hands lit up with fire, commencing to make a bonfire from the piled wood.
"What kind of animal is that?" Laura said, noticing the large amount of skin per animal and how the fur looked really feral and dirty.
Mark took a quick look back at the pile of skin, then turned back to answer Laura's question, "That? We used to call them Lusher's, they were pretty beautiful from what I heard in the history books. I don't see it, though. They look disgusting."
