After a while they break apart, Taehyung pulling back to gasp in air, Yoongi panting hard.

Taehyung lays back down on the mattress, and now they're face-to-face, each curled up on their side, chests still heaving hard.

"Well," Taehyung says after a while. He sounds a little dazed.

"Yeah," Yoongi grins, his breath still coming a little short, "so, uh. I should definitely piss you off more."

Taehyung chuckles, warm and husky and resonates deep in Yoongi's chest. He thinks he'll never get tired of Taehyung laughing, of making Taehyung this happy. The younger shifts closer so their foreheads touch and slings one arm around Yoongi's waist casually.

Yoongi's heart riots at the touch.

"Yoongi-yah." Taehyung's voice sounds so gentle, spoken like a soothing murmur.

Yoongi rests his head deeper in his pillows, a soft tired feeling washing over his bones. Sleepy. Suddenly he's sleepy, his body heavy, and he could stay this way forever, he thinks. Even his mind is starting to soften.

Yoongi's eyes lazily flit over Taehyung's features again, now so close he can pick out the individual flecks in those arresting brown eyes. "Again. Say it again."

Taehyung furrows his eyebrows. He cocks his head to the side, looking like a cute, confused puppy. "Say what, hyung?"

"No. Not hyung. My name, Tae-ah," Yoongi murmurs, and he's definitely feeling a bit drowsy now, his body feeling like it's going to sink in the mattress. He lets out a small yawn, curls up into a ball under the sheets, smiles sleepily. "Say my name again, I like how it sounds coming out your mouth."

Taehyung pauses before he bends over to rest on his elbows, leaning in close to gaze at Yoongi. His lips swing upwards into a smile, and he gently settles his head onto Yoongi's pillow, so the two are now close enough to share each other's breaths. "Mm, okay. Yoongi-yah."

Then, again: "Yoongi-yah."

Then again, but this time spoken in a trailing whisper, air shaped into words, like a quiet little secret: "Yoongi-yah."

Yoongi had never really loved his name, but in that moment he thinks he had never heard anything sweeter his entire life. He closes his eyes, and something in him seems to fill to the brim, like a wave about to spill over at its breaking point, about to come crashing down in high tide.

It's been too long, he realizes.

It's been so long since he'd heard Taehyung speak his name like this, spoken so effortlessly, syllables sliding out easy easy like it's shaped only for Taehyung's lips to form into words. As if Yoongi's name never belonged anywhere else, but in the here, in the now, for Taehyung to say.
