Jealous Dutch Van dear Linde X Female Reader

Summary: It's been paining Dutch to see you with the other men in the gang, but he only had himself to blame. He had to do something before it was too late.

Word Count: 2000

Dutch knew that he had been busy and that he hadn't been giving you the attention that you deserved, but he just never thought that he would lose you. He sees now, that you won't just sit around and wait for him to come to his senses. You deserved man who devoted his time to you and Dutch promised himself that he would be that man, no matter the cost. He wasn't going to let you slip through his fingers.

As foolish as it was, the thing that made Dutch realise the error of his ways was when he saw you talking with some of the other men in the camp. Dutch didn't think that you would cheat on him but he knew that the other men could see you were attractive, anyone would be lucky to have you and Dutch was worried and both you and the other men would see that soon.

Dutch never thought that you would be unfaithful but he was starting to think that he wouldn't blame you for looking at other men, he hadn't been treating you that great recently. But it still tore him up think about you looking at someone else, and it made him furious to see other men getting a little too close to you.

-----

It started with Sean, he was drunk and he made a flirty comment about how pretty you are. You had both laughed it off before Sean offered to get you a drink. It was harmless, really...but Dutch didn't see it that way. But he didn't do anything about it. Sean was drunk so it didn't matter, right?

Then it was Arthur. You wanted to go into town to pick up a few things, you had asked Dutch but he was too busy. That's what he told you, so you asked Arthur to accompany you and he said yes. Dutch watched, knowing it was foolish but not being able to help it as he got jealous of the sight of you together. Once again, Dutch knew it was stupid. He told you that he was busy and you had to get somebody else's help, this was his fault this time.

Then it was Javier, he was strumming on his guitar and you were listening intently. Nothing that you hadn't done before, but this time Javier seemed to be looking at you strangely, at least in Dutch's opinion. Javier was looking at you with a slight gleam in his eye, a soft smirk on his lips as you laughed to yourself. Dutch didn't realise how hard he was clenching his fists until he felt his nails drawing blood from his palms, but he still didn't do something about it.

What really bothered him was when you both went into town together. You had both stopped by the saloon to get a drink. You were sitting right beside him but some random man still decided to try to flirt with you. Was it was unclear that you were with Dutch? Dutch was beginning to worry that people thought you weren't a couple. Maybe that's why you had been getting more attention from the other men in camp recently, did they think that you both broke up? Had Dutch been neglecting you that much?

After that Dutch realised that he had to apologise to you or at least make it up to you in some way. So, he attempted to do that but apparently you had decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.

You had been talking to some of the women in the camp when Dutch approached you, his usual charming smile on his face.

"Good morning, ladies, can I borrow Y/N for a moment?" Dutch asked politely, smiling at you expectantly.

You looked up at him before looking back at the women, a small smile forming on your face. "Sorry, Dutch, but I'm busy. We were speaking about something very important" you explained but Dutch could hear that your voice was a little too sweet, and he vaguely recalled saying something similar to you only the other day.
