'It's a sad day for rock and roll as we come to learn of the tragic death of upcoming band Howlin' Chain's lead singer Lynn Heath. The singer died from an apparent cocaine overdose on the night of the bands debut album 'Teen Idol'.
'Some blame Heath's relationship with Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx as the cause of her downward spiral. The pair had a tumultuous and turbulent relationship filled with drugs and booze. The news comes as a shock to fans of the LA based rock foursome and the band have asked for their privacy in their time of grieving'
Nikki turned the tv off and sank into the couch, he had been torturing himself with the news for a month and everyday he re-watched the news clip that was played on MTV that awful day.
He couldn't help but feel as if he was to blame. If only he had not been so fucked up and stayed near Lynn and kept an eye on her.
Nikki hadn't left his apartment and couldn't even attend Lynn's funeral, he truly loved her but could not bare to show his face at a ceremony so heartbreaking.
Instead he spent the day speaking to her, talking as if she was still in the room. He thought she would be laughing at all his jokes and wrinkling her nose at others.
She would be doing the most normal things and manage to look beautiful. Nikki was broken and he knew this was a pain he'd never get over.
Nikki had tried to get in contact with the rest of the band, but they were all in a state of grieving and still shocked over the suddenness of Lynn's death.
They all felt as if Nikki was to blame, but couldn't help but kick themselves for not keeping a close eye on Lynn.
They cancelled tours, interviews, press conferences. If they didn't have Lynn they weren't a band. Not surprisingly but the album had blown up, a hundred thousand copies were sold in the first month alone. People were appreciating the music.
Just like Lynn would have wanted.
Lynn's parents showed up for the funeral, only to ask for Nikki so they could verbally abuse him, they were understandably distraught over the death of their only daughter.
Nikki spent everyday for the past month writing Lynn songs and letters, hoping that the smack he was constantly injection was enough to kill him, it nearly worked but he always came around eventually.
Nikki was on a downward spiral, he didn't talk to anyone, didn't speak to his bandmates, didn't eat. Without Lynn, he truly felt lost.
He loved her so deeply, he knew he would never love so hard again.
So that meant he'd just continue to torture himself with the old clips of the two of them in her apartment. The photos, the clothes, the notes she would leave him and of course the new flash of Lynn's death.
He just stared blankly at the screen, admiring her innocent face and reading the letters directly underneath it.
'Analynn Elizabeth Heath 1965-1991'.
