Chapter 3:

 

I saw her again.

 

I was looking for her.

 

She was different than everyone else.

 

When she walked down the hallway she crossed her fingers.

 

I smiled at that.



I sat next to her again in Social Studies.

 

She looked at me for a long time.

 

She pulled down her sleeves.

 

She asked me why I kept sitting next to her.

 

I didn’t answer.

 

Instead I told her my name.

 

She told me hers.

 

It was nice, I don’t think she knows it.
