I wandered as part as my routine through an empty honor gallery in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Since I started to work here after mine studie I always did a weirdly goodbye routine where I walked past my favorite pieces after closing time before I headed home. This time it was the second floor where I ended in the honor gallery. The last piece was the Milk Maiden of Vermeer. I stood still before the Nightwatch of Rembrandt and then walked towards the cove where the Milk Maiden was hangingm I stopped in mine tracks when I saw somebody stood infront of it. I cleared my throat. "I'm sorry sir we are closed," I said polite and he turned around and I froze even more. "Oh I know," my boyfriend Ben smiled. "I was waiting for you dear."

"Why?" I asked confused as I walked towards him. "Do I need a reason?" he smiled even more and took my hands in his. "I just wanted to see you," "You could see me at home," I fired back no clue having where this was going at all. "Sometimes you are so adorably naive Skye and that is why I love you everyday." He sank down on one knee and then it hit me. He was going to propose to me. Infront of my favorite painting. "Dear Skye Stork," he started."It may be cliche but I don't care, since you came into my life, you lit up my entire world with your wonderfull smile and bright spirit," a few tears started to form in my eyes and he noticed as his eyes started to water to. "I can imagine to live a day without you. So I want to ask you," he took a deep breath. "Do you Skye want to be a part of my life for as long as we both live. Will you marry me?" It took a few moments to progress but then I nodded. "Yes," through out a sob it came out of my mouth and he jumped up to twirl me around and the passionately press his lips against mine and kiss me deep and long. We where only interrupted by people clapping and as I looked up, I saw mine parents and his standing in the other cove. They completely past me. My mother walked up to me and hugged me tight. "I'm so glad you said yes, he is a good man. Congratulations dear." My father hugged me also tight with tears in his eyes followed by his parents. All tough I felt like the luckiest woman in the world right now, engaged to the best man in the world. Some nagged me and I couldn't place my finger on it.
"What about an outside wedding. A small wedding with only our closest relatives," three days later while sitting at the breakfast table Ben immediately started about the wedding. "Well I was not even thinking about it," I confessed. "We should have a date first." "What about this July?" He asked and I almost chocked in a piece of roasted bread. "That is in four months," I protested. "Well the sooner, the better," he smiled. "And again I want to keep it small." "Why so soon?" I asked as I looked at him. "I mean keeping it small seems a good idea. But I also want a proper wedding not something that is thrown together in a hurry." "That doesn't have to be." He said and looked also up to me. "My mother and yours already plannend an appointment at a wedding salon tomorrow." "Do I get to say something in this Ben?" I asked a bit to irritate. "It's also my wedding and if I find it to soon. It is to soon. You can't stand alone at the altar in four months." "Why did you say yes than?" He asked confused and I rolled with my eyes. "Because I tought it was years away," I took a deep breath. "That's why I said yes, also I wanted to tell you that I finally took those 5 months paid leave," Ben looked excited. "That leaves us time for a big honeymoon," "No Ben, not for our honeymoon." My eyes pierced in his and he looked a bit off guarded. "It is for a holiday yes, for my trip through the UK," "We talked about that Skye," he started but I cut him off. "I know, you find it a bad idea. But before I commit myself to you for the rest of my god for saken life, I want to do this Ben, because after we got married you want childeren straight away and is mine dream trip always a dream." "We can also do that after our childeren are grown-ups," Ben said and I shook my head. "No, it's now or never." I stood up and putted my plate in the sink. "And what about our wedding than?" He asked and I turned around looking at him. "Really, really?" I proclaimed. "We are just engaged three days, normally a couple spend the first week in total bliss of it, then the date picking which is normally 6 months away and then the planning happens." "But don't you love me enough to be my wife as soon as possible?" That question stabbed me right into my back and made me truely question my feelings for him. Did I love him enough to be his wife. Looking back on to all those years we spend together. Introduced by our mothers we met on a party and it clicked immediately and suddenly it hit me that my mother kinda forced me into a relationship with him. Ofcourse I had feelings for him but not that strong back than to be his girlfriend. "Skye?" He asked worried and I snapped out of my thinking. "Let's make a deal," I said and he looked at me. "I leave for my trip through the UK. That will take me four months. If I feel ready to marry you when I return, we go the next day directly to the townshall and tie the knot," "And what if you are not ready?" He asked concerned. "We will figure it out then Ben," I took a deep breath. "Do we have a deal?" He nodded with a heavy head and I sight in relieve. I dodge the marriage game for atleast 5 more months.
1743 Ironically enough I didn't want to have a rushed wedding. And now almost 5 months later. The day I actually was going to decide I was going to marry Ben. I was going to Marry Jamie MacTavish. Only day after since it was decided.
