The next morning seemed unusually slow. It was the day we would return to Hogwarts, yet there was so much to do. Mrs. Weasley dashed about the house looking for spare socks and quills; everyone kept colliding on the stairs, half-dressed with bits of toast in their hands; and Mr. Weasley nearly broke his neck, tripping over a stray chicken as he crossed the yard carrying Ginny's trunk to the car.
I was thankful that I had my personal lamp so I didn't have to worry about sharing a bathroom with Ginny and Ron. The trouble was everyone was moving so much that the Burrow was literally shaking making it hard to get dressed since my lamp shook with it. Once I was finally out, I went downstairs with my trunks, making sure to put my lamp safely in Ginny's room, and grabbed a slice of toast before rushing over to the Weasley's Ford Anglia.
"Not a word to Molly," Mr. Weasley whispered to me as he put my trunks in the car and it magically melted down to make room for the next item.
Once everyone was in the car Mrs. Weasley glanced into the back seat, to see Harry, Ron, Fred, George, and Percy were all sitting comfortably side by side, and said, "Muggles do know more than we give them credit for, don't they?"
Ginny and I were sitting in the front seat next to her which had stretched so that it resembled a park bench. "I mean, you'd never know it was this roomy from the outside, would you?"
I smile and nod, not wanting her to believe any different, "Muggles have made great strides in the auto industry, Mrs. Weasley."
Mr. Weasley started up the engine and we drove out of the yard. I began to go through a list of things that I needed in my head knowing that in a few minutes we would turn around. First, it was George, who had forgotten his box of Filibuster fireworks. Five minutes after that, we skidded to a halt in the yard so that Fred could run in for his broomstick. I was shocked that we almost reached the highway when Ginny shrieked that she'd left her diary, I expected us to at least pass an exit or two. By the time Ginny had returned to the car, we were very late.
Mr. Weasley glanced at his watch and then at his wife.
"Molly, dear —"
"No, Arthur —"
"No one would see — this little button here is an Invisibility Booster I installed — that'd get us up in the air — then we fly above the clouds. We'd be there in ten minutes and no one would be any the wiser —"
"I said no, Arthur, not in broad daylight —"
So we reached King's Cross at a quarter to eleven, causing us to dash across the road to get trolleys for our trunks, which Mr. Weasley loaded on. None of us cared to get the right trunks, and by the time we hurried in the station, we all realized we did not have our own stuff, but couldn't care less.
We reached the barrier and Mrs. Wealsey made sure we were all here.
"Percy first," Mrs. Weasley looking nervously at the clock overhead, which showed they had only five minutes to disappear casually through the barrier.
