Chloe's POV
Nine months has finally hit and right now I'm trying not to go crazy during my internship today since Beca is at home and the baby could come at any minute. She's not alone, which is good. I made Amy stay home today while I'm interning. Beca protested about Amy staying home, not because she doesn't like her, she just didn't want to be babysat. I don't think it as babysitting - more like being there just in case Beca goes into labour. We went to the doctor's last week and she said that Beca could have the baby any minute! I've been watching her like a hawk and making sure that she's prepped and ready to go to the hospital when it's time.
Beca says that I worry too much but I feel like I don't worry enough. I still don't understand how she can be so calm and collected while I'm running around like a headless chicken! She's the pregnant one here! God... I sound like such a husband... or wife... or... I don't know. I don't have time to think about that right now. I need to focus, but how can I when Beca is at home and the baby could come at any moment? Ever since Beca hit nine months, I've been on high alert. I just want everything to go smoothly. Having a baby is a big thing and I want both Beca and the baby to be safe and healthy. A lot can go wrong during pregnancy and I might have been an idiot by looking up all of the things that could happen, which has only made me worry more. Beca told me off and I don't blame her - I don't help myself in stressful situations.
I try my best to focus on filling out this paperwork until my phone buzzes in my pocket. I pull it out and see that Amy is calling me.
"Amy? Is everything okay?
"Yes, she's fine. Just, don't panic but she'd kinda in labour now."
"Wha... Are you serious!"
"Yes, we're on our way to the hospital now."
"Oh my God! Okay, okay, okay, put me on speaker phone."
"You're on."
"Becs, are you okay?"
"I'm scared, Chlo," I can hear her sob and it breaks my heart.
"Don't worry, okay? You're going to be fine. I'm going to leave right now and meet you at the hospital."
"I wish you were here with me now..."
"I'll be with you soon, Becs - I promise. You're not doing this alone and Amy won't leave your side, isn't that right, Aims?"
"One-hundred per cent!"
"I'll be there as soon as I can, alright? You can do this, Becs, okay?"
"Okay," she whimpers.
"I'll see you soon. Amy, take me off speaker phone."
"You're off."
"Put your foot down and get to the hospital ASAP. Beca is scared and I want her to be somewhere where she knows she's going to be okay."
"I'm going as fast as I can in New York traffic - I'm doing my best."
"I know you are and I appreciate you doing this. I'm going to leave right now and I'll be there as soon as I can. Just keep Beca calm and tell her that she's going to be fine."
"I will."
"Thank you, Aims. I'll see you soon."
"Okay. Bye!"
"Bye." I hang up then quickly dart into the head vet's office and tell her that I have to go because of a family emergency - which is true since Beca IS my family.
Once I get the green light to go, I grab my things and hightail it out of there and make my way to the hospital.
