Chapter 13

I saw her scars up close.

She let me touch them.

She looked down.

I thought she was crying.

I hug her.

She hugs me back.

It reminds me of last night.

She let’s go.

She walks away.

She doesn’t look back.

I wish she would.

I don’t eat lunch.

I think about her scars.

They look like burns.

The really scary kind.

I see her pass my locker at the end of school.

I follow her.

She doesn’t notice.

I follow her outside the school.

I go to my car and pull out.

I see her on the sidewalk.

She’s walking.

Her fingers are crossed.

I follow her.

She notices.

She blushes.

It looks cute.

I tell her to come in the car

She says she doesn’t accept rides from strangers.

I tell her I’m not a stranger.

She smiles.

I like it.

I pull over and she gets in.

She asks me to take her somewhere.

I ask where

She says anywhere
