I had a metallic purple bathing suit lying on my bed. I began to unbraid the braid I had put in my hair after school. I changed into the swimsuit and looked at myself in the body length mirror. I looked gorgeous. The cut outs on the side of the bathing suit complimented my hips and the back was cut to wear my ass cheeks sort of spilled out of the suit when I bent down.

If this doesn't get Pietro. Then I won't know what will.

I texted Pietro with the phone Patty gave me when I had first got back from school:

sadhxeHay: Going to work on a proj. with Declan and a few other guys! Hope you and Becky are having fun.

I then sent him a picture of me in the mirror and gathered my things ready to go. I came downstairs and saw Declan he was at the door waiting for me, "There you are. I was about to come up there to make sure you didn't leave out your window or something."

"Funny," I scoff before walking out the door, him following behind me. I hear the door close and as I'm walking only hear my flip-flops I turn around to catch Declan staring at me. "Well, are you coming?"

Declan clears his throat and begins to blush," Uh...of course. It's just...um... you don't think you're a bit..."

"I'm glad you think I look nice but lets get to the pool before the sun starts to go down ok?"

Declan nods and we began to walk down to the pool when my phone vibrated. I looked at my phone to see a text from Pietro on my lock screen:

bigpmxster: What the fuck, Hay! Where the hell are you going with all that ass out??

I giggle and decide to leave him on delivered as we had arrived at the pool. Devon got out of the water and came over to me, "Well, if it isn't miss crazy, you look-"

"Beautiful," Oscar shouted from the pool.

"Thanks guys but we should be focusing on the issue here," I exclaim.

"You're right," Declan agreed, "We should write out a script on-"

"LET'S PLAY CHICKEN," I shouted.

Devon and Oscar cheered before dashing to the pool with me and cannon balling into the deep end. When we resurfaced we saw Declan roll his eyes. "Come on, Decky Wecky! JUMP!"

"Guys, first work, then play." We all booed. "This is due next class."

Devon whined, "And it'll get done next class but come one. This might be your only chance to swim with a smoking hot girl like this."

"It's fine guys. I wouldn't expect an actual chicken to play a game of chicken anyhow," I tease.

Declan looked at me and glared. "Oh really, You better keep that energy when I drown your ass," he responds, running to the pool. He takes off his shirt and I get a glimpse of his abs before they disappear along with him into the water.

We played a few rounds of chicken, I was on Oscars and Declan's shoulders a few times while I piggy backed on Devon's back since he wasn't the strongest. It was when we were in the middle of a chicken fight where I was on Declan's shoulders, shoving Devon off when Pietro entered the gate. "Hannah, what the hell?"

Devon looked over at Pietro then back at me and with a second to react I pushed him over causing him to backflip in the water. I cheered, giving Declan a high five, "Thanks for the distraction, Micheal."

"That's the thing, what happened to no distractions. What will your father think?" I stopped celebrating and looked at Pietro. His arms were crossed and he looked truly upset. I got off of Declan's shoulders and walked over to him when he pulled me aside. "Look, I'm no snitch but I'm worried."

"Why? Can't I enjoy our time here just for a bit. I mean you are doing just that without any thought about me."

"Hay, what are you talking about?"

"Pietro I may be emotional, but I'm not blind. I saw you and Becky not just the morning before our arrival or the night you went off to 'comfort' her but at lunch too. If you like her then fine, but don't go stringing me along."

"Hailey. I don't like her. I don't like you. WE CAN'T. And you know that. No attachments, no feelings. We're heartless killing machines who are on a mission," he said holding my face. "We can't be getting soft especially over some meek little normals," he said pointing to the guys.

I turn and see Oscar and Devon messing around but Declan looks at me with concern. Pietro turns my face back, "If you have to get your home reassigned then fine, but please, I can't lose you."

I nod and before I could walk away Pietro grabs my arm pulling me into a hug. I hear almost a radio com speaking but didn't think much of it as Pietro began to rub my back, "I'm sorry, H," he said before there was a slight pinch in the back of my neck. Before I could react to what was going on, my eyes felt heavy and I was fast asleep.

I open my eyes and I'm in a dark room illuminated with blue lights. There was a door at the end of the room and when I stood up to look around I fell right back down. I turned around to see Father, sitting on what looked like a throne. "Bring them in," he boomed.

I called out to him but failed to get his attention. I heard a door open and turn to see two people being carried into the room. They looked so familiar, so real.

I think I know them.

"Names," Father ordered.

The man and woman spoke but their names were almost censored out.

"Where's our baby," the man shouted.

"She's in good care, we have he training right now."

"You're a monster, you can never be a parent," the woman snapped, tears rolling down her eyes.

"Oh really? Well it was either that...or death," he chuckled. The woman let out a cry before sobbing the man scooting to her to comfort her.

I woke up, sweating like a sinner in church. I look around confused as to where I was. "Father? Father!"

Declan came into the room with a class of water and what looked like a bowl. "Sssh, Hannah, it's ok. It's all going to be ok," he comforted.

"What...what--"

"You're jackass of a boyfriend came while we were at the pool. You guys were talking and then next thing I know you pass out in his arms. He lies you on a nearby beach chair before doing the douchiest thing ever."

"And what's that?"

"Climbing in his too good to be true car and speeding off. Leaving you to the dangers of the world, hell if we weren't' there who knows what could've happened to you."

"How'd I get here?"

"I carried you home. it was kind of a struggle since you would occasionally swing at me or mime whipping out a knife of some kind," he chuckled before, handing me the glass of water.

I took a sip before face palming, "Great. Now I really am, crazy."

"No, you've just been through a lot," he said handing me the bowl. "I like me a girl with a story, even if it has multiple volumes.

I chuckled before looking at the bowl. I looked back up at him with an eyebrow raised,"Cereal?"

"My favorite. The only kind of cereal that kind fuck up your mouth but still taste good going down, Captain Crunch."

I laugh, stirring the dish, "I'm so sorry. If I've been so horrible to you. I'm just not used to having...friends."

"Nah, it's cool. You have made my day more interesting than the past 16 years of my life. Plus, I think Oscar might like you, it's too bad your psycho boyfriend-"

"We aren't together," I interrupt him. I look him in the eye and can feel my cheeks heating up.

He nods, "Anyways, get some rest if you haven't already," he instructs, getting up and walking to the bathroom that splits our rooms," You've got school in the morning."
