While everybody left early this morning to go do God knows what in these woods, I ended up staying behind to sleep in because for some reason I was extra tired this morning
"Shit" I stretched my arms out as I walked out of the room. As soon as I walked into the living room the first person I laid eyes on is Jamie
"Oh you stayed behind too?"
She nodded "Yeah. I slept in a little bit longer. Everybody else went except for me, you and-"
"Kd I fucking hate you!" I could hear Elena yell from down the hall. I shook my head while Jamie looked at me
"And them."
"They've been doing this all morning?"
She nodded and I sighed while sitting down beside her
"They should be tired of arguing by now"
Jamie laughed a little and looked down at her phone, causing her smile to drop as she read a message on her phone.
"The fuck" she muttered lowly and I rose my eyebrow
"You good over there?"
"Yeah.. Daejahs just...."
"Being herself" I finished for her and she nodded with a laugh
"Yeah I guess"
"You do know sometimes we outgrow people?"
Jamie looked at me then back down at her phone. I wasn't gonna lecture or anything but I personally feel like Jamie would be a whole lot better without Daejah
"Me and this girl been best friends since sophomore year. That's the only real friend I had"
"Probably cause that's the only person you allowed to be your friend. Jamie if you wasn't an asshole from the moment I met you, we could've been friends. You're pretty as hell, you seem cool and I don't know if it's because you had Bryson, but you seem like you gotta good head on your shoulders"
"Probably. After I had my baby I realized I had a whole lot of growing up to do... I ain't want my son seeing that side of me cause I know I did a lotta fucked up stuff"
"Yes you did..... Y'all did. But at least you mature enough to admit it now"
"I guess I just didn't think you and Kentrell would last so long."
"Nobody thought that but I'm not offended at all. Yeah Kentrell had his ways but that was before me.. except for that one time he fucked up and it took some time for me to forgive him for that"
"Was that the situation with Daejah-"
"Yeah but I don't like to talk about it" I almost immediately responded while I could hear the door open
"What do you think made Kentrell change for you honestly" Jamie bluntly asked
I ran my hands through my puffy hair and shrugged "I guess it just takes the right person"
"Noelllll! Getcho fatass head up" Kentrell yelled as he walked over to me. In his right hand he held a cup and he left one was reaching out for my hand. He looked over at Jamie and made a face as he pulled me off the chair "you better not be corrupting my girl"
"Noel been corrupted" Ben explained while he popped up from behind Kentrell and sat down where I just stood up from
"Ben.. fuck up" Kentrell harshly told Ben while he pulled me behind him, leaving the cabin. I followed behind him over to the chair on the porch and as soon as we both sat down he looked at me
"We leaving tomorrow"
"All of us or-"
He shook his head "just me and you. They can stay these last two days but I gotta go home"
"I thought you was enjoying yourself. What happened?" I asked him while I grabbed his head and picked something that must've fell in his hair while they were outside earlier
"I was but fuck all this. I miss my baby"
Hearing him say that he missed Kemoni made me laugh because I honestly was missing her too. They wasn't lying when they say everything changes after you have a baby
"Well if that's the case then yeah. Cause all I wanna do right now is lay up with Moni right now"
I stopped picking through his hair and he went to drinking out of his cup
"Whatchu and Jamie was talkin bout?"
"Nothing much. She was just basically talking about how she finally realized she used to do some fucked up shit"
"Took her this long to realize that"
"It's better late than never"
Kentrell's phone started ringing in his pocket so he pulled it out and of course I looked to see who was calling him. It was a FaceTime call from my momma
"Why is my momma FaceTimeing you?"
"Cause she fuck wimme more than she fuck witchu" he boasted while answering the call. Within a few seconds Kemoni was in the camera with her hand in her mouth, laying back on my momma
"Kemoni! Hey mamas" I said into the camera with a smile and my momma's face popped up into the camera
"So your lil bald head can answer Kentrell's phone but not yours"
I frowned up my face while he laughed
"Ma, my phones in the room.. and I'm not bald headed"
"Child tell that lie to somebody else" she mumbled and I smacked my lips
"BYE MA! Whatchu callin my man's phone for anyways?"
"First of all heffa y'all child wouldn't stop crying so I figured if she heard one of y'all voices she'd shut up but you wouldn't answer so I called Kentrell"
"Kemoni Whatchu cryin bout lil girl?" Kentrell spoke over me before I could say anything. She just kept her hand in her mouth. My momma took Kemoni's hand out of her mouth and her face instantly frowned up.
"Girl don't start"
As soon as my momma told her that, her lip started quivering and she let out a loud cry
"Why you took my baby hand out her mouth?" Kentrell asked and my momma made a face in the camera
"Cause she don't need it in her mouth. Problem?"
"Yeah" he nodded and I laughed. The door to the cabin opened and Elena stormed outside along with liyah behind her
"Elena!"
"Leave me alone" she responded back, sounding like she was crying. I looked at Kentrell and he shook his head
"Let me go see what's wrong with my sister"
"Ain't shit new" Kentrell muttered while I got up and walked off the porch
"Liyah, what's wrong with her?"
She turned and looked back at me with a shrug
"I don't know. Her and Kd were arguing still and she walked out the room crying"
"They stressing me out" I groaned and heard Kd come out the house talking to Kentrell. "Kd! What happened?"
He looked at me "I broke up witcho sister. What's what the fuck happened" he answered before walking back into the house
"Oh hell" liyah sighed and I looked at her
"its really time to go. This trip going left"
"Tell me about it. Baby joe mad at me because apparently tyquian told him about what happened with us and I'm not about to sit in no room forcing a nigga to talk to me"
"Yeah..." I crossed my arms and looked back at Kentrell "we just might as well make this everybody's last night"
