严格说起来，火焰和海浪已经不算纯正的海豚，只是受到返祖基因的影响，它们保留了海豚的外形。如果尚可没有出现，火焰很可能会与任意一种水生物同化，海浪也有可能在出生后不久便死亡。

Strictly speaking, Flames and Waves cannot be considered pure dolphins, they have merely been influenced by their ancestral genes and retained the figure of a dolphin. If Shang Ke did not appear, Flames might have assimilated into any kind of aquatic animal while Waves might have died not long after birth.

人类之所以两百多年都没有发现海豚的踪迹，主要因为它们大多已经变成了其他物种，只是体内保存了海豚基因，并且每隔一段时间，海豚基因便会被激活，从而诞生拥有原始外貌特征的进化海豚。这类海豚的繁衍能力最强，而且还能大大提升其他物种的繁衍能力。
