Chapter 13

"So, class, think about a topic for your research as early as of now because the first three chapters of your research will serve as your final examinations. I know you will carry a lot on your shoulders in your other major subjects, that's why I am already setting your expectations."

"Does that mean we will have a title defense, Sir?"

"Definitely there is, Miss Llamas. Also, the continuation of your first three chapters this semester will be on your next semester, so that, by the end of your first semester in your fourth year, you will be done or almost done. Please expect revisions and suggestion from your future critic teachers."

"Okay, Sir. Will that be by group, individual or by two's, Sir?"

"We will be discussing about that soon, Mr. Corazon. For now, I am expecting that you will take this class seriously. Your thesis is a major requirement for you to graduate. That means, you cannot be a candidate for graduation unless you completed your research. Is that clear, class?"

"Yes, Sir!"

"Good. How about you, Miss Bautista? I did not hear you said yes."

"Meym!"

"Miss Bautista?"

"Serenity!"

I was surprised that our professor was staring at me, even the whole class.

"What's the matter with you, Miss Bautista? You're not paying attention to the discussion."

"S—sorry, Sir." Napatuko ako.

"Thesis writing is no joke, Miss Bautista. I have handled this class two years ago, at hindi gano'n ang pagkakakilala ko sa 'yo. That's so not you."

"Then bring yourself to the clinic. You also got dark circles under your eyes. You should get enough sleep para maka-focus ka sa klase ko."

"Y—yes, Sir."

"Good. Okay, class, please turn to the next page of your course syllabus."

I can't bring myself to focus in the discussion since yesterday. I'm starting to hate mind because of it.
