"Does it taste good bebé?" I ask Emilio.
"Yeah. Some mamá?" He bites the cone.
"No thank you."
"So where's your baby daddy?" Zelena asks.
"Her name is Emma and she's at work. Why don't you like her?"
"Because she's not good enough for my sister. She's barely around and from what I see, she doesn't do enough."
"Zelena stop before you say something you'll regret. Emma sees on the weekend and calls us twice a day. That may not be enough to you but it's what works for us. She does a lot more than you think. She does just buy him toys. She gets him important things too. Things that I need her help with. Bills, clothes, diapers, and a whole lot more. She's his father and I love her. And loving her means I have to wait."
"But what about when-"
"Stop! Please just stop. Just be there for me. That's all I need."
"Okay. I'm sorry."
"Yeah."
"Mamá I done."
"Okay bebé. Come here and let me wipe your face." He looks just like Emma. I clean his face and kiss his cheek.
"How's the baby?" Zelena asks.
"Good," I sigh. "Really good. He's getting bigger." I rub my belly. "Henry are you up?" He doesn't move so he must be asleep.
"Mamá I'm sleepy." Emilio lays his head on my shoulder.
"Alright bebé. Let's go."
"Mamá can we see papi?"
"She's busy papa."
"Mamá I see papi." He starts to cry. "Can we visit papi?"
