[Y/n] has wanted to be a hero for as long as he could remember. The act of helping people filled him with a bright feeling he couldn't explain. Armed with his determination to become a hero and save others, [Y/n] will have to overcome both personal...
Just as before, the air leaves my chest as my feet hit the ground. I stumble forward into someone at the impact.
A near muted yelp from in front of me.
Two hands grab my shoulders, steadying me. My eyes snap open and I glance up to see Aizawa-sensei's startled expression.
Righting myself, I step back and clear my throat nervously. Glancing around to the other teachers, I notice they share a similar shocked expression. I run a hand through my hair.
"Um... surprise?"
Sensei glances to the others before turning back to me. "This is how you got to the others during the rescue? Could you see this area physically from where you were?"
"Yeah, um I couldn't s-see but Ectoplasm's clone said to try teleporting t-to you by picturing what you look like sort of how I did in the alley. He thinks it could help finding missing persons or villains. It took a few tries but I did it!" I smile brightly.
"Alley-? Never mind... so you pictured what I look like?"
All Might suddenly speaks up, interrupting him. "This is a truly fascinating development! You've never done this before now?"
"I mean- I did it after you... during the rescue. But I didn't know how, it just kind of happened." I explain, smile slipping.
Midnight jumps in. "That's amazing! Have you tried doing with someone else? Perhaps you could try again but bring the clone as well."
I hesitate before nodding determinedly. "G-got it."
Back with the clone, I relay the instructions before offering my hand. "So I have to have contact with the person I'm taking with me..."
He takes it silently and I close my eyes again, focusing on Aizawa-sensei's image in my mind. I spend the rest of the day attempting but I only manage to pop over when the clone drops my hand.
When we're dismissed, I spent the rest of the day trying to figure out how to bring someone with me. Maybe it's because it's a clone...
I bring up my theory to sensei the next day. Instead of the clone, Midnight stands with me while I focus on the memory of Aizawa. The picture clarifies. Once it works, we practice again and again. With every try, my landing gets steadier.
Hours later, I try again. The air leaves my lungs as usual but I find myself flat on my back when I arrive. Midnight is standing to my left, Aizawa kneeling at my side.
"[L/n]?"
Pushing myself up, I respond quietly. "I'm good... just a little ti- ow!"
I'm cut off by a searing pain behind my eyes. I grasp at my head but the pain is gone as quickly as it came, leaving behind a barely noticeable ache.
"[L/n]? Are you injured?"
"N-no, just a headache...I'm fine. I think it might've happened when I went to Bakugou..." I trail off, the memories still fuzzy at best.
"You may be straining your quirk... You should take a break. We're almost done here. Go ask about costume modifications. I'm sure you can come up with a couple of ideas." He helps me to my feet before sending me off.
Soon, I'm on my way to the workshop. It feels weird to walk through the school without the rest of the students. Turning my attention to my costume, I rack my brain on ways I could improve it.
Reaching the door, I knock quietly. A faintly familiar head of pink hair answers the door. I hesitate before introducing myself.
"Um... I'm [Y/n] [L/n]. I don't believe we've met?"
She smiles before ushering me into the workshop. "The names Hatsume! You came for costume modifications, right?! Come with me!"
Powerloader addresses me as I follow her in. "Eraserhead gave me a heads up. Now then... let me see your costume instructions. They should've come sealed in the case.
If it's little improvements and repairs, I'll just let the design office know what I did. Something bigger and I'll have to prepare a formal written application to request approval. It should take about three days at the most..."
I approach him nervously. "Um... I don't know exactly how to make my costume better."
"Could you explain your quirk?"
"Well I can teleport within seeing distance but recently um... if I can imagine someone I can teleport to them. Maybe it'd help to see farther or..."
I trail off as Hatsume jumps up beside me. "Ooh I have something for you!!"
She runs off before returning with goggles of some kind. She presents them excitedly, bouncing in place. They look slightly similar to Aizawa-sensei's...
"Okay! So this baby records everything you see and interacts with your brain's electrical impulses! That means if you think of something you saw that was recorded, it will display what you saw on the lenses!! I made them to recall what has been seen to go over what happened but it's perfect for you! Try them on!! Look around and think of what you see!!"
At her direction, I put them on. My stomach twists sickly at the feeling of something covering my eyes but I push it to the back of my mind.
I look around the room and then think about what's behind me. A transparent picture appears on the lenses, but not enough to block my vision. Focusing on the overlay, I pop backwards.
I find myself in awe. "Woah! H-Hastume... this is amazing! You're a genius!"
I gently run my fingers over the device. It fits comfortably and doesn't block my vision in the slightest. I try it out a few more times before turning to her.
"Could I... would you make me one?"
At my words, she smiles brightly. "Of course!! Powerloader!!"
With his approval, she begins recreating the goggles as he writes a formal application. Finishing, he calls me over.
"Now, I'm sure they'll let this go through easily but I have to ask anyway. Since it's only an addition, you can hang onto your costume. I'll get them to you when I can."
I nod, excited. "Thank you, s-sir. Thanks Hatsume!" The pink haired girl waves as I leave. This will definitely be a leg up...
--- I've finally designed a costume for the reader but feel free to disregard it and imagine it however you like! This is just what's been in my mind!! Thanks for reading!!!!!
