Rogue's pov

I stepped back as Meian fell to the ground, a dark chuckle soon following. Meian looked up but it wasn't her. Her eyes were filled with nothing. They were void of any emotions. Black and white marks covered her body and magic powers seeped off her.

"Get out of her body" I growled, balling up my fists. "Why should I? This is the only way I can do what I want. She's weak" he laughed.

"I said get out!" I snapped, covering my fists in magic. "You wouldn't fight me. Not when I'm in her body. I know how much she means to you" he taunted.

I froze. He was right. I couldn't risk losing her again. I couldn't go through that pain again. "How about a deal" he offered.

I narrowed my eyes. "Give me your body and I won't kill her" he chuckled. My throat went dry. "I'll give you 2 minutes to decide. Don't forget you can't beat me because you'd be beating her too" he reminded.

I couldn't move. "Time's ticking Rogue" it taunted. I looked all around but found nothing. It walked forward so that it was standing right in front of me, eyes meeting.

I saw some sort of emotion fill her red eye, sorrow? I couldn't tell but before I could do anything, her right arm moved, sending a blast of magic towards the tree branches above.

"NO! STOP!" the shadow yelled. I was pushed back, hitting into a tree, my vision going dark. I heard the sound of a loud snapping soon followed by a thud and the pained screams from the shadow.

I regained my sight after a few seconds and looked over. Half of a tree had fallen right where Meian had been.

I scrambled to my feet and ran over, trying to move the tree but it wouldn't budge. I kept trying but it still wouldn't move.

I looked around the area of the tree and saw only a hand. I pushed against the tree again but still couldn't get it to budge.

I resorted to using my magic which allowed me to move the tree just enough to get her out. I moved some of the dirt around her legs which were still stuck under the tree before gently moving her far from the tree.

I held her close, checking for severe injuries. Her eyes fell shut as I did this. I saw a trickle of blood in her head and froze.

I checked for any other injuries. The only other injury that I could find was that her spine wasn't sitting in the right position.

My breath caught in my throat. I checked for breathing and caught short gasps. I gently picked her up, trying not to harm her more and turned shadow, taking her to the hospital.

When the receptionist saw me, she quickly called out a doctor and had Meian taken into the back. I was told that I would not be permitted to be near her for a while.

I just sat down in the waiting room, hoping that she'd be alright.
