Evelyn's Pov

Monday morning. The first day of Junior year. A lovely time for all.

"Windsor, you can go ahead to school. I'm gonna drop Jonah off and then I'll be there." I say.

She nods.

We talked to her about her little party incident last Friday. She's been more agreeable since mom talked to her. I was never able to get through her thick skull.

"Jo, you have your bag right?" I ask.

"Yes."

"Okay, lets go. I'll catch up with you Windsor." I say.

Jonah and I begin our walk to the elementary school while Windsor walks to our school.

When we get there, Jonah lets go of my hand and runs to his friends.

"Evelyn, how are you doing?"

I turn and smile at Jonah's teacher.

"I'm alright, how are you?"

"Pretty good. How's your mom? Is she still working at the store?"

"Yes ma'am. She has the night shift now, though. So, you know I gotta bring Jo in so she can sleep." I explain.

"Ah, I see. Well, I wouldn't mind picking Jonah up for school sometimes if you'd like." She smiles.

"That'd be amazing, but I wouldn't want to put that pressure on you."

"Oh, it's no big deal at all. I pass your apartment building everyday, dear." She says.

"Thanks. I better head out or I'll be late for class." I sigh.

"Go ahead, dear." She smiles.

I head towards the high school and get there within five minutes. I go to the same locker that I've had for the past two years and put in the code.

I turn around quickly and slam into something hard. Ouch, I didn't remember a wall being there.

"Watch where you're going!" We both say at the same time.

Wow, the wall has a deep voice.

"You should try paying more attention."

"You should try not standing in everybody's way." I retort.

"Stubborn much?"

"Annoying much?"

He's getting on my nerves. I was about to say something else, but the bell rang. Ah, saved by the bell.

I head off to my first class and notice that the wall is following me. I stop and turn around quickly, glaring at him.

"What?" I snap.

"Chill woman, I'm just heading to my class."

"Your class? There's only one class this way."

"Yeah, and I'm in it." He scoffs.

"No...no because I am and that would mean..."

"We have the same class." He finishes with a smirk.

"Ugh. I hate you already."
