xvii. IN LOVE

   

AS THE group run down the hall, Icarus starts to recognize where they were going. "Where are we going?" Erica asked, holding Steve's wrist, Dustin holding Robin's as Chris held Icarus' wrist. "Just trust me." Dustin said as Steve laughs.

"All clear." Dustin says before they follow him into the theatres, and then into one of the theatre rooms where Back to the Future was playing. They rush down the stairs to front row, there were three seats available which Steve, Robin and Icarus took as Erica, Chris and Dustin go to sit at the other end where another three seats were.

"Dude, these seats blow." Icarus said as he strained his neck to have to watch. "You blow." Steve says and Icarus hits him with his arm. Icarus and Robin both reach out to the popcorn bag that Steve had, Icarus grabbing a handful and eating them one by one as they continued to watch the movie. "What's happening?" Robin asked.

"No idea."

Outside the theatre room, Steve drinks from a water fountain. "That's amazing." He says as he pulls back. "So, like, I wasn't totally focused in there or anything, but.. I'm pretty sure that mom was trying to bang her son." Robin said and Icarus looks at her. "Wait, wait, the hot chick was Alex P. Keaton's mom?" Steve asked as he looked at Icarus.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure." Robin says and Icarus sighs. "But they're the same age." Steve says before going back to drinking more water. "No, but he went back in time. And yeah, I know, why is it called Back to the Future? Because he has to go back to the future because he's in the past." Icarus says to him and Steve just looked up at him.

"So, the future is actually the present, which is his time." Robin said and Icarus slowly nods with a smile. "Wh-what?" Steve says, confused and Robin looks at him. "No, no, it's my turn. You've had enough." She says, shoving him towards Icarus before she starts drinking from the fountain.

"Hi," Steve smiles at Icarus who just rolls his eyes, before he turns away and looks up at the ceiling. He starts walking away from Icarus whose eyes never leave him. "Icarus.." He says and Icarus just walks over to him. "Look at the ceiling." He says and Robin walks over to them as well.

The lights were twinkling, appearing to them differently than they really are, then they all started to feel sick. Eventually they all ran into the bathroom, the same one. They all run into seperate stalls and start puking into the toilets.

Icarus flushes the toilet he puked into as Steve walks into the stall, going to sit on his knees as he reached out and wipes at Icarus' mouth with toilet paper. "Hmm.. thanks." Icarus said with a smile and Steve smiles back at him. "No problem.. You okay?" He whispers and Icarus nods.

"You?" He asked and Steve nodded this time. They kind of forget about Robin for a moment when Steve reached out, putting his hand onto Icarus' for a moment. "The ceiling stopped spinning for me." Robin says from the next stall.

"Is it still spinning for either of you?" She asked and they both look up at the ceiling then back at each other. "Holy shit.. No." Steve says and Icarus looks at him. "How did you perfectly walk in here like that?" He whispers and Steve sighs. "I was trying my hardest not to stumble.." He shrugs.

"Do you two think we puked it all up?" He asked as he looks at the toilet bowl. "Maybe. One of you ask me something." She says and Steve looks at Icarus. "Interrogate me." She says in a Russian accent and Icarus smiles. "Um.. when was the last time you peed your pants?" He asked her.

"Today."

Icarus and Steve share confused looks. "What?" Steve says and Icarus smiles. "When the Russian doctor took out the bone saw." She says and they all laugh. "Oh, my God.." Icarus says. "It was just a litte bit, though." She says and Icarus smiles, shaking his head. "Yeah, it's definitely still in her system." Steve says and Icarus just laughs again.

"My turn!" Robin says and Icarus smiles. "Like, for both of us?" He asked. "Yes.. Have you ever fallen in love?" She says and Icarus looks at Steve. "Yes.." He answered right away. "Long hair.. Prettiest brown eyes.. basically the light of my life.. And still is." Steve says and Icarus just smiles softly at him. They thought she wouldn't see but they were holding each other's hands on his lap, she could see it from under the stall. She smiles to herself.

"What's her name?" She asked. "Ic-" "Iris." Icarus cut off Steve right away with a glare and Robin just smiles more. "I know what best friend means for you guys.." She said suddenly and they both look at each other. "I get what it all means now.. Best friend, the secret meetings after every end of Steve's shifts, the one scoop or two scoops question, Steve asks that a lot, and not to mention.. You just described Icarus a few years back.." She said.

Icarus looks down, kind of afraid of what she'll think. He looks back up at Steve, "and I can see your hands." She says with a small smile and they quickly pull their hands apart. She walks into the stall they're in, sitting next to Steve. "I'm the same.." She said and Icarus looks at her right away.

"Oh, thank God, I was worried you'd steal Steve from me or something." He says and she chuckles. "I'd probably steal you from him if I weren't." She says as she points to his knee and Steve looks at her. "Oh, you would?" Icarus said excitedly.

"Definitely. You're so much cooler." She says and he smiles widely. "I so am.." He nods and they look at Steve for his reaction, they laugh. "So what's her name? The girl that made you realize. For me, it was Isaiah Kyle in eighth grade." He says with a smile and she just smiles back at him.

"Uh.. Tammy Thompson in Click's class." She says as she looks at Steve who looks at her. "She's cute and such.. but she's a total dud." He says and Icarus rolls his eyes. "For me, it was Iris Blood." Steve says as he looks back at his boyfriend with an annoyed look. "I was worried you guys would think differently about me.." She says, smiling.

"Turns out, you dudes are gay too!" She held up her hand for a fist bump and they just laugh, bumping it with their own fists. The door busts open and Dustin comes rushing in with Erica. "Okay? What the hell?" He says when he saw the three squished together in one tiny stall, on the floor. They just look at each other and start laughing again.
