You had taken some pain killers before school, but they weren't doing much good. Pain shot through your side with every move since the burn ran from the top of your left thigh to your chest. Johnny was doing his best to help you, but sadly it barely made a difference. Never the less you went through your day as usual. Mr. Lancer had already taken a liking to you and Johnny since he had you in science and Johnny in english, so that made the day go by a little faster. Finally lunch time had arrived. You and Johnny grabbed trays of food and started to walk towards the other end of the cafeteria.
"Hey y/n!" Paulina called out to you. You turned around to see her walking towards you looking confused.
"Hey Paulina!" You said with a smile.
"Where are you going? We sit over here." She said chuckling.
"Oh. This one kid invited me to sit with him at lunch and I don't want to be rude." You said motioning over to the table you were headed towards. Paulina wrinkled her nose.
"You're so sweet y/n. But if those losers bother you or if you get bored, I'll be where we usually sit." She said as she walked away. You looked at Johnny.
Losers. That was a little harsh don't you think?
You shrugged and started to walk over to the table Danny was sitting at.

Danny's P.O.V

"Are you sure there wasn't anything distinct about these guys?" Tucker asked me. I told them about what happened last night in the park and we had been trying to figure out who it could be since.
"No. I couldn't see either of their faces it was too dark. All I saw was a pair of glowing yellow eyes and then they shocked me." I said as I rested my elbows on the table. Sam and Tucker were sitting across from me, giving each other questioning looks.
"Well why would they attack Skulker, then you, and leave? Especially if they knocked you both out cold?" Sam asked holding her chin in speculation.
"And if they're ghosts, why weren't you able to sense them even if they were invisible?" Tucker said while stabbing at his food.
"I don't know guys. Maybe I-" I paused. Y/n and Johnny were walking this way. I waved over at them and y/n smiled. Sam and Tucker turned around just long enough to look at her.
"Why is one of Paulina's new friends coming over here?" Tucker asked. I felt my cheeks warm up.
"Ummm." I hummed trying to find an explanation.
"You have no taste. You could at least go for someone way less shallow." Sam scoffed. I didn't have time to reply before y/n and Johnny sat down next to me. Sam seemed to perk up when Johnny sat down while Tucker shrunk back slightly.
"Hey y/n!" I said smiling at her.
"Hi Danny." She said with a small smile.
"Ummm. These are my friends Sam and Tucker. Sam and Tucker this is y/n and Johnny." I said nervously. Tucker wiggled his eyebrows at me, then looked at y/n with a sly face.
"Tucker Foley. Nice to meet you." He said extending his arm for a handshake. Before y/n could even reach for his hand Johnny sent a glare his way that had tucker pulling his hand back faster than anyone could blink. Y/n elbowed Johnny hard enough for a short, blunt exhale to get forced out of his lungs.
"It's really nice to meet you guys." She said with an awkward smile. She was clearly nervous and Sam rolling her eyes was clearly not helping. Johnny bent down and grabbed a notebook and pencil out of his bag. He started to scribble, pushing his tray towards y/n.
"So what do you like to do for fun?" I asked y/n looking over at her.
"I like to do a ton of things. But I really like to read and play video games." She said starting to list things off.
"Really?! I love gaming!" I said with a big smile. She turned a bit so that we were facing each other. We had been talking for a few minutes when Sam cleared her throat as loudly as possible.
"So. Johnny, how do you like Amity Park so far?" She asked leaning towards him. Johnny grabbed y/n's arm and they shared a glance before she turned to Sam.
"Uh, Sam? Johnny can't talk. He's mute. But he likes it here, there's a lot to draw and read." She said looking back at Johnny. He nodded and went back to his scribbling. Sam scoffed at y/n and rolled her eyes. Johnny continued to scribble.
"Uh. Hey Johnny can I see what you're drawing?" I asked, struggling to make them feel comfortable. Johnny looked at me, scribbled a bit, then tore out the page he was scribbling on and handed it to me. I felt my cheeks flush red. It was his perspective on the conversation y/n and I were having. Y/n was laughing at something I said and I was talking with a huge smile. He drew her and her smile so well. It was almost as beautiful as the real thing...
"Danny?" Y/n asked setting a hand on my shoulder. I looked up quickly.
"Uh what?" I said blinking.
"Johnny says you can keep that." She said pointing at the picture as Johnny nodded and started to scribble again. I couldn't help but smile.
"Okay. I've had enough of this. Why are you friends with Paulina?" Sam asked sharply, crossing her arms and glaring at y/n.
"Well because she was the first person to talk to us. And she was nice to us." You said softly, not sure why she was angry. Sam rolled her eyes.
"Of course." She muttered.
"What did I do to you?" Y/n asked, obviously confused and hurt. Sam just scoffed.
"Sam, seriously you need to-" I started to tell her to leave y/n alone, but before I could Johnny tore a page from his notebook and slammed it in front of her. In large letters he wrote
People like you give nice people like your friends a bad reputation. You have been nothing but rude and condescending towards my best friend and, as I have obviously shown, NO ONE gets to be rude to my best friend. Also, just because you've managed to pick a few labels that set you apart from others doesn't make you better than them.
Johnny packed up his things and stood up, offering y/n a hand. She grabbed her things and took his hand to stand up. He gave a nod to Tucker and I and started to leave. I stood up to catch y/n's hand.
"Y/n wait!" I said trying to come up with a reason for her to stay.
"Sorry Danny, Johnny really wants to leave and I should go with him." She said avoiding my eyes.
"Well...Can we please hang out some other time? I really.....want to get to know you." I said, still holding her hand. She smiled softly.
"Sure, that sounds like fun." She said looking up at me. Her eyes are so beautiful, I don't know how I didn't notice their beauty before.
"Uh ya, okay!" I said as I let go of her hand and let my own hang in front of me. She chuckled softly and moved towards me to give me a quick hug. After a moment of shock and my mind going blank I set my hands on the small of her back, but before I could get my arms around her she pulled away and followed Johnny.
"Bye Danny." She said as she walked off.
"Bye...." I said still standing there in shock.
"Oooooh! Danny's got a crush!" Tucker said wiggling his eyebrows.
"Ya...Ya I think I do...." I said, shaking my head and sitting down. I looked down at the picture Johnny drew again. But this time I noticed something in the bottom left corner next to Johnny's signature (A/N always sign your artwork kiddos!).
If you like her you better go for it. Before I decide I don't like you.
I blushed slightly. Was it really that obvious?
"Danny, she's just gonna use you and break your heart. Like everyone in that group." Sam said pulling me out of my thoughts.
"No. You don't get it. She's different. She stood up for me and she's super smart, Mr. Lancer was even showing off her science homework. And she's beautiful, and sweet, and she's just so....I can't even describe how I feel about her." I said once again staring at the drawing.
"You barely even know her." Sam scoffed.
"Who cares? Danny's in looooove!" Tucker said laughing. The two of them started to argue, but I just tuned them out and continued to stare at the picture until the bell rang.
