"Plan B"

Louis' POV

"Don't! Doris, give my passport. C'mon baby, give your brother the passport." That was my attempt to persuade a baby.

"I guess she doesn't want you to go, Tommo." Said Dan looking at my poor performance to recover my documents.

"If only I could take her with me... aha! I've got it."

"I'm going to miss you, Louis."

"Me too, mom. But please, don't let Doris play with my papers again, you know she likes to taste everything." I said looking at my passport now covered with baby spit.

My suitcases were in the front door waiting for me. I said good bye to everyone, had my mom cried a little and listened to my sisters asking me to bring them some gifts. Of course Eleanor would be in charge of that, she loves doing that and is obviously better than me at it.

As soon as I opened the door the sun hit my face. I put my sunglasses on and accommodated my luggage inside the car. My family was standing next to the car waiting for me to go. It was a repeated scene: me leaving for a while...

"Well, that's it. I'll be back soon. I love you all!"

"Then take the babies with you!" Lottie said joking and everyone laughed.

"I don't love you that much." I said, lying, of course.

Next thing I knew was that I was on my way to Eleanor's home. I would look for her suitcases and then, I would pick her up at Alana's home. My girlfriend never stays in one place, but what can I say? I'm exactly alike.

While I was driving, all I could thought was how long I'd waited for that trip. The idea of me and Eleanor alone walking by the sea, sitting in the sand and staring at nature was pretty motivating. She had made a great choice, Greece was the perfect place for us.

Some twenty minutes later I parked in front of her house. The sun was still shinning and I could felt it once I got out of the car so I basically ran to the front door and rang the bell.

"Louis!" El's mother said with a weird smile. She seemed surprised to see me.

"Hello, how are you?"

"Well, mmm- fine." She answered but it was obvious she was not fine at all.

"Is everything okay? I'm here to take Eleanor's luggage, remember our trip?"

"Yeah, but-" She could not finish the sentence. She simply looked down and made a gesture for me to go in.

I entered the house with a bad feeling growing inside me. I followed her to the kitchen where Eleanor's dad was sitting having a cup of ice tea.

"Hi!" I greeted him, extending my hand to shake his.

"What? Louis?!"

"Okay, why are you guys so surprised to see me?" The words came out of my mouth in a rush.

"It's just we assumed you wouldn't travel now that El is-"

"Shhh." My mother in law made him stop talking walking to his side.

The two of them shared a quick look and then they looked back at me. I haven't noticed but I was getting nervous so I was playing with the keys of my car, some sort of violent game was taking place in my pocket.

I waited, expecting for someone to talk, to explain to me what the hell was going on. But nothing happened. Running out of patience I folded my arms in front of me and spoke.
