In another universe, Harry Potter was still the Boy-Who-Lived, but in that universe, James Potter died, and Renata Abate was never truly free. Sirius Black went to Azkaban for a crime he didn't commit, and Adelmo Abate feelings of love were punishable by death. Huxley Lupin didn't make it through his first night, Remus Lupin spent over twelve years alone hating everything about himself.

The Weasley family and the Longbottom family, they carried on, but still found themselves facing plenty of hardships, with no one on the outside to turn to.

Harry survived that night against Voldemort, only to be whisked away by strangers, and placed in a home that didn't want him. When he cried no one ever came and if they did, it was never to comfort him. On stormy nights when nightmares caused him to cry out, no one heard him because he was tucked away in a cupboard under the stairs.

The Boy Who Lived, didn't know that magic existed until he was eleven years old. And even then, magic couldn't repair everything that had already been done.

But that's another universe and a story for another day because, in this universe, Harry Potter grew up loved.

He watched his father fall in love again, watched his mother grow stronger, watched his uncles heal and got to watch his family expand.

He made friends, ones that would remain at his side for years to come, no matter how much trouble came their way (even if they were the cause of said trouble). Huxley, Neville, and Ron became his brothers early on, which gave him plenty of time to learn how to be a proper big brother before his siblings came along.

Harry Potter was not a poor orphan, stuck under the stairs, praying for a better day. Harry Potter was a boy with hair messy from how many times someone ruffled it playfully, he lived in a home where he didn't have to keep quiet and pretend he didn't exist, he sang nursery rhymes to his siblings in English and Italian at his mother's side, accompanied his father to quidditch matches, and most importantly, lived.

And all of this was just the beginning.
