a mermaid who can't swim,
sounds pretty pathetic.
because mermaids are supposed to
live and breathe the ocean water,
and all of it's salty and powerful glory.
but even without a knack for swimming,
i can still hold my ground
with the rest of them.
because i may not live
and breathe
the water,
but i love the sun
and the sand just as much,
as they could ever love,
their blue torrents of waves.
