Jo walked into an empty diner, double checking the text from Elena to make sure that she was at the right place.

"Elena?" she called out. "Hello? Anyone here?"

She jumped, thinking she heard a noise. But after a few more seconds of silence, she dismissed herself as being crazy. Until...

"Surprise!"

She jumped again, as Elena, Bonnie and Riley came running out of a dark corner, screaming, with tiaras on their heads and burgers, fries and milkshakes in their hands.

"Happy Bachelorette!"

Jo looked around, impressed. "An entire diner to ourselves? Actual heaven."

Riley nodded. "Well, we couldn't do a lot of the normal bachelorette stuff with you being pregnant and all, so we thought this would be a good idea."

They snagged a table and immediately Jo stuffed some fries into her mouth, closing her eyes at the delicious sensation.

"You're geniuses," she told them, eyes still closed. Then she pointed at the milkshake. "I do wish this was vodka, though."

"I don't think baby Saltzman would appreciate that," Elena teased, smiling.

Jo nodded regretfully. Then she stood up abruptly. "I need ketchup."

When she left, Bonnie raised an eyebrow at Riley, stuffing a few more fries into her mouth before she spoke.

"So... what's going on with you and Damon?"

Riley sighed, shrugging. "I don't know. I told him... how I feel about him. And for like 30 seconds, things were great. And then the subject of vampirism and immortality came up. I told him that I'm never gonna want to be a vampire, and then he said that maybe we shouldn't be together, and left. I haven't spoken to him since." Riley looked at Bonnie, to see that she wasn't surprised. "But you already knew that?"

"Damon called me last night and told me everything," the witch admitted sheepishly. "He wanted to get my opinion on... something."

"Since when does Damon call you?" Elena asked curiously.

Bonnie shrugged her shoulders. "He needed someone to talk to, since he couldn't talk to his best friend." Clearly the pair had bonded more in the 1994 prison world than anyone had thought.

"What did he need your opinion on?" Riley asked, noisily slurping her milkshake. This time, Bonnie and Elena looked at each other, sharing secrets with their eyes. Whatever Damon was planning, they were both in on it.

"Um, when I got the magic from Silas' headstone back in 1994," Bonnie started. "I also picked up the cure." Riley's eyes widened as she listened. Like everyone else, she thought that the cure was gone for good. "I brought it back for Elena, but..." she trailed off, looking at Elena to finish her sentence.

"Damon talked to me about it," Elena told her. "He said that, after I take it, he wants to take it too."

Riley's mouth dropped open, just as Jo came back to the table, looking at each of them in concern.

"What is it? What's wrong?"

"Damon wants to take the cure for vampirism," Elena told the doctor. There was a small smile on her face that was mirrored on Bonnie's. Jo on the other hand, looked confused.

"Why would he do that?"

Bonnie grinned. "Because he doesn't want to live without Riley."

Jo's eyes widened. "Oh my God, isn't that like, the vampire version of a marriage proposal?"
