The day at school was just like any other: trying to bear the boring classes, talking to my best friend Eun and trying to avoid any trouble with mean girls or immature boys.

It was a good day because it was peaceful. I haven't been called out for being a virgin or anything else useless. The only thought which was stuck in my head was the thing my dad wanted to tell us. I just didn't know if I had to be worried about anything or if it was something good.

"Y/N, Wook! Help me prepare the dinner!", my mum called us from downstairs at about 6pm after I had done my homework. We ran downstairs chasing each other like we always do.

"Don't be so loud", my mum scolded us and gently patted our cheeks. Wook is 12 years old and we actually have a quite good relationship, but sometimes he's a bit too curious or too annoying.

"Mommy, what is Dad going to tell us? Will we get a new TV or something cool?", he asked while setting the table.

"You wish", I said chuckling and cutting the vegetables, "but really, is it something bad?"

"Ah kids, I don't know. Just wait for him", she said sighing. Right in that moment the door bell rang. "You can ask him now."

We all ate quietly after we sat down. The silence was burdensome and seemed to increase more and more.

"Okay, come on dad", I said putting down my fork and knife, "tell us now. I've been worrying all day and Wook will pee himself in a minute because of excitement."

"Hey, I won't", he said angrily and hit my shoulder.

"Stop it already. I will tell you", he said in his deep soft voice and lay down his napkin. "Please, don't be sad or angry at me. We'll find a way to cope with anything", he said frowning.

"I accepted a new - and better - job", he said. "So what? That's good isn't it?", my brother asked. "Well, the thing is that I need to live close to the company and be flexible", he explained.

"Which means?", I asked tensed.

"That we have to move", he sighed, "and you have to change schools." Silence.

"Is our new home cool? Will we have a garden? Or a pool?", my brother asked critically.

"We have a beautiful garden and a balcony", my mum answered smiling at him, "and you'll have your own room."

"Oh, okay then. When are we moving? And can I have the balcony?", he asked excited.

"Relax, Wook. We'll discuss it the next days and when we've moved in. We'll be moving in two weeks", my Dad answered ruffling his hair.

"OK, I need to pack", Wook yelled getting up and ran out of the room so I was alone with my parents.

"What do you think, Y/N?", my mum asked grabbing my hand.

"So you've already decided that we'll move? You didn't even ask us - me?", I asked not really knowing how to deal with the situation.

"I'm sorry, Y/N. I had to decide quickly or they'd have turned me down. There was no time left", he explained seeming to be really sorry.

"And is it even possible that I can change schools during the year? Is our new home far from here, can I keep seeing Eun?", I asked all the questions popping up in my head.

My mum rubbed the back of my hand and said "Keep calm, honey. We talked to your school and it's fine. Of course you won't see Eun every day from now on, but it's not too far from here."

"You'll be fine", my dad assured hoping he can allay my fears.

"I'm not sure about that", I said trying not to sound too disappointed , "I need some time alone."

They looked at me miserably while I left the room but I couldn't change it for now. It was big news for me and I couldn't really think straight.

Before I closed the door I heard my mum say "She'll be fine. A new start is always something good."
