Home For The Holidays Oneshot (NEW CHAPTER!)

Prompt: It's Christmas and for the first time after Seunghyun's death, Dara decided to celebrate Christmas the same way they did when he was still alive. Meanwhile, Jennie is to celebrate Christmas with her family in Paris. How would Jisoo survive the day?

*****

For the first time since Seunghyun passed away, Jisoo felt uneasy on Christmas Eve. Ever since she'd started dating Jennie, she hadn't been alone on her one of her father's favorite holidays.

It was Jisoo's favorite, once upon a time, too.

She used to love waking up early, pressing her face against the frosted window of her bedroom to see if there was any snowfall.

She would race her father down the stairs to the kitchen, making hot chocolate and throwing the mini marshmallows at each other. Until, of course, Dara would come down and call for a ceasefire, so she could cross the kitchen and get to her waiting mug of coffee.

They would spend hours and hours digging into their endless boxes of Christmas decorations, stringing up lights from every part of the house.

While Jisoo busied herself setting up the candy cane lights, she'd pretend to be disgusted when Seunghyun would tug Dara under the mistletoe and share a gentle kiss with her.

They'd get the fireplace going, hang up the stockings, hang every ornament on the massive tree Seunghyun would bring home.

Seunghyun would pick a classic Christmas record from his collection, set it onto the player, and the house would be flooded with music.

Between the smell of food coming from the kitchen, and Seunghyun constantly twirling her into a little impromptu dance every little while, Jisoo was practically in heaven.

They would fill the house with their closest friends and all of their family, making for some of Jisoo's favorite memories.

Every year, their party was a night to remember, surrounded by warmth, good food, even better company.

It was a tradition Jisoo loved.

She used to adore the holidays, with Seunghyun.

And then things went dark, for a little while.

No longer did she eagerly await the holidays, with an advent calendar, and a list of the gifts she wanted to get everyone.

Without Seunghyun acting as the glue, her relationship with Dara suffered for a time, too. Seunghyun's record player was even sold, the last vestige of his soul, to Jisoo.

There were no parties, just calm, quiet echoes of what the holidays used to be.

And then came Jennie Rubyjane Kim, colliding into Jisoo's life with such force, yet fitting into the missing pieces she so desperately needed.

Jennie brought the magic of the holidays with her.

Though she herself hadn't had the chance to celebrate much either, given her difficult family situation with Chaerin and Jiyong always away for business.

They found that they were more than happy to simply celebrate with each other. First there was the trip to Jennie's childhood home. Then, the following year, the trip they all took to the lodge.

And now, in their senior year of college, visiting their family in YG- Dara decided to break the curse.

Jisoo couldn't quite wrap her head around it.
