(Shawn's POV)

I decided to get to school earlier the next day so that I could ask Allen if Summer and Isabel could come for his birthday, before school started. I picked up Brian first because it was raining and his parents were both away. I told him my idea, minus the part that I had figured out that I liked Summer.

     "What do you think?"

"Well, I don't know if that will fix what she's going through but maybe it will be fun," Brian looked a little unsure.

"Yeah, especially cause Isabel would be there," I smirked. Brian flushed red. I laughed.

"Okay, fine. I will help you ask Allen if they can come."

"And also would you mind asking Isabel for me. I couldn't ask Summer, and Isabel would probably strangle me, sooo.."

"Ugh. Fine. If I have to do everything," Brian groaned.

We got to school and met our friends on the field while the doors were still closed.

"So, Allen, about your party next weekend..." I began nervously.

     "Yeah?" He nodded.

"We were wondering if Summer and Isabel could come," Brian blurted out, saving me.

"Yeah sure, we've got enough room." Allen nodded casually. "Do you want them to be your roommates?" He winked mischievously.

     "I don't think that's a good idea..." I started.

Then Alexia jumped in, obviously she was listening to our conversation. "Yes, Allen, that's a great idea!" She smiled. I looked at her, my mouth wide open. Why would she do that? She winked at me. Uh oh.

(Summer's POV)

"C'mon!" Isabel waved to me from the other end of the hallway. "You're so slow! We won't have anytime to eat our lunch!"

"I'm coming, I'm coming! Geez!" I ran the rest of the way to her and we walked up the stairs. "Why do we have to eat in the library today?"

"We don't have to, I just want to. Also I have something I need to talk to you about," she mysteriously answered. I didn't say anything, trying to think of what it was. We found a nice corner table in the library near the window and sat down and started eating.

"So, what did you want to talk about?" I started drinking my water.

"Wellllllll, Brian invited us to Allen's birthday weekend."

     I spit it out. "WHAT!?"

"Shhhhhhh," the librarians glared at us.

"What!?" I mouthed. "What did you say?!"

"I said we would go," she shrugged.

     "Isabellllllll! Why?!" I groaned.

"Summer, please come! I don't want to go alone and, I don't know, I think it would give me more time..." she rubbed the back of her neck and looked down.

"With Brian?" I finished. She nodded and blushed. I sighed loudly. "Okay fine, I'll go! But this is for you, so don't expect me to have too much fun." I crossed my arms.

"Oh come on! This is the biggest party of the year! Usually its exclusively seniors-popular seniors! Two nights in a big house-hotel with a hot tub and cute seniors?! It will be awesome!" She shook me.

"Yeahhhh, that does sound pretty fun," I admitted.

"And my mom can drive us up on Friday right after school!" She was so excited.

"Do you want to pack after school? It's probably going to take a while."

"And maybe we could go shopping for some cute dresses for the party Friday night!" Isabel squealed. I laughed and nodded. We finished our lunches, fantasizing about the weekend, and then left before the bell rang to get our stuff for study hall. Today we sat with Shawn and Brian again. It was awkward at first but we needed to ask them questions about the trip. Quietly, so that Mr. Silvers wouldn't get mad, they told us everything we needed to know. By the end of the period me and Isabel were more than ready to start packing. We hurried through the rest of our classes and met outside the school. From there we walked to my house-my closet was first to be raided. Isabel helped me pick out a couple cute outfits for just hanging out in the lodge or around town. Then we did accessories, supplies, and makeup. We took the suitcase that had the stuff from my house and walked over to Isabel's house. There we did the same thing, except when we were done we went up to her treehouse for the final step. Dresses. As we looked through our makeshift closet, we couldn't find anything good enough. Isabel turned to me smiling.

     "You know what this means!"

"Shopping time!" We both screamed excitedly. I had to tutor Shawn on Thursday, so today was our only day after school. Isabel's mom happily drove us to the mall and we picked out two dresses. Isabel's was a tight bright red sleeveless dress. Mine was a short navy blue sparkly dress with a halter neck and a belt at the waist. Finally we were ready. Now we just had to wait two days.
