"Baby, do you want to go on a vacation?"

Adira suddenly asked the child as she turned to him to gently wipe his chocolate-stained face.

Heise stared back at his mother's pretty dark ash eyes that waited for his answer. Of course, he would love that! But truly, to him, wherever she goes is where he will go.

Even now, when she whimsically went to Baron Niveria's fief to visit her most favorite shop, Heise would tag along and stick to her side like a clingy koala—or in his case, a dragon.

So the child, sensing that his mother wanted to go on a vacation, nodded his head in response and Adira smiled happily and excitedly.

She now had an excuse as she decided on her course of action and planned to accompany Casimir when he visits this neighbour that he spoke of.

"Then let's tell Daddy!"

She shot up and excitedly turned around only to bump into a waitress that carried the sweets and orders of the people sitting at the booth next to theirs.

"Oh my! I'm so sorry for my clumsiness, Madam!" She quickly asked for forgiveness and excuse for her maladroitness.

"Oh dear. Please let me help you. It was my fault for suddenly standing up like that."

Adira quickly bent down and helped the girl clean up when the latter suddenly looked over to her with a very surprised expression on her face—after recognizing that sweet yet sultry and elegant voice.

As she called her the way people used to address her,

"Lady Sylveris?!"

"Mel— Lady Niveria! What are you doing here? And in those clothes!"

Adira cried and was astounded with this discovery. A noble like this Melissa Niveria was actually out here and helping out as a waitress in a shop!

It was unheard of! Nobles don't usually come down here and don on a waitress' uniform, you know?

The girl, who was still surprised at finding the great Lady Sylveris all the way out here in their backwater of a fief, blinked a few times and sheepishly answered,

"Umm... I often help out at this shop without my father's knowledge. So can I please ask the Lady Sylveris to keep this a secret?"

She knew it was presumptuous of her to even ask this lady, who was on her way to standing at the highest spot of their society's hierarchy, to keep her working a secret but she had no choice.

She didn't want her father to know and ban her from coming back ever again. Well, the Baron was generally kind but he was also strict.

Adira, having a look of understanding as she finally found a kindred spirit who was so much like her, smiled brightly and nodded her head with enthusiasm.

"Of course! I actually do that a lot too. Although my father knows."

"Really? And the Duke allows you?"

"Well, he can't really do much since, no matter what, I always find a way out."

Adira answered with a helpless and bashful smile while helping Melissa up. She wasn't proud of her stubborness but she figured the other needed someone who could understand this quirk of hers.

Heise, who was quietly and cutely peering up to Melissa, waited for his mother to notice him and quite possibly introduce him to his new target. He needed to know if this woman was a friend or foe so he can recruit her to his side if need be.

"Oh. Hello child? Are you lost?" Melissa smiled as soon as she noticed the blue-eyed dragon assuming the appearance of a child looking up to her.

"Umm..." Adira tried to answer Melissa instead but Heise beat her to it.
