LUKE WAS STARING at me with an all-knowing smirk tracing his lips

LUKE WAS STARING at me with an all-knowing smirk tracing his lips. I gulp as I begin to nervously play with the gold charm bracelet on my wrist.  Shit, shit, shit, shit. My brain was having trouble processing all of this and my heart beat was going off the fucking rails.

I tilt my chin up defiantly, "No."

"See," Luke says, almost a cocky, arrogant whisper and leans forward on his elbows. He then grins cheekily, "I think we both know that's not true, Hayden."

I watch as he slips his phone out of the pocket of his jeans and places it flat on the table. It sat between us like a bomb, ready to detonate at any given second. My focus super-zoomed in on it when ever I anxiously glanced at it. I watch as he opens it with his fingerprint before bring up his photo gallery.

"I do, however, really gotta give you points for effort. I mean I was almost convinced that you still really hated each other." Luke chuckles to himself as he opens a folder full of pictures of Chase and I. "These pictures were also extremely difficult to get. But boy were they fucking worth it."

My eyes widen as Luke swipes through the photos. They were obviously taken when we thought we were alone. There were pictures of us in the back of the library, one was of us on the bleachers, with Chase's hand under my skirt. Some were when Chase picked me up from swimming practices, at night and in the dark. It made me physically sick to know that he was watching us. Luke was always watching us.

"If I may toot my own horn for a hot second here, I'm quite the photographer. So the best part is most of these pictures make it seem like Chase is pressuring you." Luke chuckles as he continues to swipe through the images. "Luckily, we're currently experiencing the hash-tag-me-too movement and all that jazz. You just gotta make up a story and we can finally be together, Hayden."

He leans forward to reach out to me but I push to my feet instantly and the chair falls backwards, slamming against the wooden floors, "You want me to say Chase sexually assaulted me?"

"Shh, keep your voice down Hayden." Luke quietens me, "It's not as bad as it seems. You're just ignoring your feelings for me because of him. We just have to get him out of the picture and you'll see clearer, Hayden. I mean, if you really want to get rid of him you'll have to make up a more extreme story...if you know what I mean."

I laugh in disbelief as I place a hand over my mouth, "Oh my fucking god, you're actually psychotic Luke."

"DON'T fucking call me that!" Luke bursts and I take a step back at the extreme showcase of rage. Obviously a touchy subject. Luke notices my shock and runs a hand through his hair while plastering a calm smile on his face, "I'm sorry baby, I just don't really like that word very much."

I couldn't believe it. This was a completely different guy from the first night I met him. Or maybe, Luke's always been like this and the guy in the elevator was the different person.
