After a long story starting with a bet gone wrong and ending with the twins being penniless, Lyra looked that the two of them hopelessly.

"You two are hopeless." Lyra sighed shaking her head.

"I told you she'd be mad," George said.

"I'm not mad, I think it was a bit silly to bet all your savings, but I'm not mad."

"So you'll help us get our money back?" Fred asked hopefully.

"Absolutely not," Lyra said finished off her butterbeer. "I told you I'd never use my magic for something like that. We'll just have to find another way to get the money for the joke shop."

"Bullocks." Fred grumbled slumping in his seat, "and here I thought we converted you over to the dark side."

"Not quite. I wouldn't worry about it too much though,  things have a way of working out."

"Your a very optimistic person," George said.

she shrugged her shoulders "I think everything good or bad happens for a reason, and in the end, things have a way of working themselves out."

The twins shared a look but she ignored them. They weren't the first to judge her way of viewing the world and they surely wouldn't be the last.
