Simon was running a hand through his bag trying to find his project that he did for history class. He was late for an art class, not that it worried him to much. Mr. Peterson loved him, and he had amazing grades. But he wasn't too sure if that would be the case with Maya, she was on his case lately about being on time to class and making sure his grades stayed up. It was like she had adopted his as her son and was going all mom on his. Simon was sure that it was just her way of not having to deal with Josh, distracting herself from everything that had happened.

As he pulled out his project, he felt an arm grab on to his arm and pull him behind a building. Simon stumbled and pulled back his arm right when he found his footing. He turned around and his mood worsened then it already was.

"Matthews you have a lot of nerve. Give me one reason why I shouldn't slam your head into this brick wall." Simon growled. Josh rolled his eyes not taking Simons threat to seriously. Sure he had a good punch, but Josh knew that he could take Simon in a fight if he really wanted to.

"Because I'm sure you wouldn't want to have to explain to Maya why you're in the hospital at the end of the day. Besides that would just make her hate me even more than she already does." Josh told him. Simon shook his head.

"I told you to leave her alone." He told Josh narrowing his eyebrows. Josh rolled his eyes.

"Would you shut up for a minute! I need to talk to you about something. I need your help." Simon scoffed.

"Oh now I've heard it all. Your delusional, Matthews." Simon tried to get past Josh but Josh blocked the way.

"I'm serious, nobody else will help me. Farkle and Lucas are all ready to beat my head in and Riley doesnt want to upset Maya more than she already is. Trust me, I wouldn't have come to you if you weren't a last option." Simon shook his head in disbelief.

"What makes you think I would help you? Maya gave you her heart and you turned around and stomped on it. I'm not going to help you do any more damage." Simon shoved his finger into Josh's chest. Josh sighed in frustration.

"You dont know what happened! None of you do!" Josh started to get more and more frustrated. Simon rolled his eyes.

"We dont have to know what happened to know that you're a douche." Simon argued. Josh ran a hand through his hair.

"Fine, fine! If I really wanted to hurt Maya than why am I basically going against my pride and coming to you for help? Why do I want to make things right with her so bad? Why am I not focusing on going to LA for a new job after I graduate and instead I'm willing to throw my dream away to be with Maya?" Josh asked the hard hitting questions. Simon stared at him.

Maya had told him about Josh's job offer in LA. He was the only person she ever really opened up about it to. He knew how much Josh wanted the job just based on what Maya had told him. He also knew how much Maya had struggled with their relationship because of the job offer. But he also knew he had never seen Maya more happy than when she had been with Josh, even with him. No matter how much he didnt want to admit it.

"That still doesnt answer my question. Why should I help you?" Simon asked him as he leaned against the brick wall. Josh sighed.

"Because Maya listens to you. She always goes to you when she needs advise. More so than Farkle or Riley. I think she feels that you are a safe net for her. If you talked to her, maybe she'll give me another chance." Simon glared at Josh. He sighed and looked away letting his thoughts get together. He didnt want Maya hurt again, the last thing he wanted was to be the one to put her in that position. But, he knew that besides the obvious, Josh was good to her, and she was happy, so happy.
