"Just so you know... I was actually going easy on you. So don't regret it Kalen"

Kalen's Throne room

Without further ado, John went and immediately aimed his hand straight at Kalen, and shot his homing beam

Kalen instantly activated his ability and dodged to the sides using what looks like a speed buff. His light blue afterimages trailed after him

As soon as he dodges, John's homing beam curved to follow his heart, but it hit his shoulders instead. He was fast enough to confuse the homing beam

"Urgh!" Kalen groaned "Homing Beam huh?... Not bad kid. But I won't fall for it next time" 

John shot another beam at him, and just milliseconds before it hit Kalen, He dodged upwards to the air so the beam won't be able to home on him anymore. 

While he was still mid-air... Kalen dashed towards them and crashed to ground, but luckily they both already hopped backwards

"Hey! Don't you care that you're damaging your own building right now?" Asked Remi

"Why do you care? I can just demand this town to fix it for me anyway..." Said Kalen "Say, you guys are not from around here... Are you?" 

"None of your business" John said condescendingly

'So super speed and strength huh?' John thought 'He's obviously not a 3.2... Just how much impact can this injection have? He might be stronger than that bastard Zeke. Should I just screw it and copy his ability? 

But suddenly, something struck John's mind

"Pinky! Can you electrocute the ground for me?!" John asked, with a demanding tone

"U-uhm... I can.  But won't you also be damaged?"

"Just do it!"

Remi nodded. But just before Remi electrocuted the ground, Kalen dashed upwards again 'Heh... Just what I expected him to do'

Expecting Kalen to dash upwards, John also easily jumped to the air with Isen's ability. After that, he fired 10 non-homing beams everywhere, so that Kalen has nowhere else to dodge

"W-what the fuck!... Ack!" 

Two of his beams hit his stomach and legs, and Kalen lost balance of himself and went straight to the ground. Seeing him laying on the ground injured... John went ahead and stomped his back with his foot so he couldn't get back up

"Urgh!... Y-You fuckers! why did you come to this town anyway! Don't you guys have anything better to do?!"

"As I've said before... We're here to stop your tyranny behaviour" Said remi

"But why did you come now of all times? This town had been led by me like this for the last seven years... so why now?!" Kalen Said desperately. He really seem to not care about all the wrong things he's done. Or perhaps, he didn't know that his actions were wrong in the first place

"W-what did you just say?" Remi asked in disbelief

"Do I really have to say twice? You heard me!"

'What? Seven years? But then why is Kalen's wanted list have been posted just this week? Something's fishy here...'

"Kalen... When did you get your ability boosted?" Remi asked... but Kalen stayed quiet

"Answer her! Or I'll break your arm right fucking now!" John demanded

"O-okay kid relax! I got it just this week okay?"

John looked at his heartbeat, and turns out, his pulse stayed regular "He's not lying, Pinky"

'What? So the Wanted List's was posted by ember themselves? But that's an official government website that has existed over ten years, while Ember was beginning to be known to the world just two years ago! So my hunch was right... The authorities are helping Ember after all...'

"Hey Pinky... What's wrong? Why are you spaced out all of a sudden?" Asked John

"W-What? Oh it's nothing"

"Huh? Are you dumb? You know that I can detect your lies right?" 

"O-Oh! Uhm... I'll explain it later ok?"

"Ugh whatever... Hey Kalen! Call that drug dealer here, NOW!"
