^^^Just take a look at my husband in the mm😍😭
Asia~
I sighed heavily as I pulled over into the Popeyes parking lot once again. I'd been thinking of looking for a real job in the near future - one that was actually in my field of profession. However, I was stuck here as of now.I grabbed my purse and hopped out of the car, mentally preparing myself for another few hours at this ghetto ass job. Who knows what the day would bring? Strolling through the entrance, I signed myself in and put my things up in the back, before wrapping my hair up into a neat ponytail. I always got here early, so I had an extra 15 minutes before my shift started.
I barely got the chance to open my Instagram before the bell was ringing. I looked at the time: 09:47. Sucking my teeth, I stuffed my phone back into my pocket and went to see what they wanted. On the way, my manager stopped me.
"Asia, go see what those people want please," she spoke as if she didn't just see me going.
"Okay Susan I'm going, relax." I popped my gum in her face. I just got in here and bitches wanted to irritate me already. She looked taken aback by my sudden rudeness."That's nice. Just remember you're already treading on thin ice here. This is your last warning before I have to fire you." Sis was turning red as she spoke.
"Fire me. I dare you."
"Stupid nigga." She nodded and strolled away from me, whispering under her breath. I just pretended I didn't hear her. Racist ass. I had something coming for the white hag.
Suddenly, I stopped in my tracks when I saw who was here. That means I definitely wasn't tripping the other week. Latrell. And he was with Dave again. My heart sped up rapidly, but I wasn't gonna let them see that. He looked good though. I was just happy he wasn't struggling and he was doing well wherever he ran off to. Before they could catch me staring, I quickly composed myself and walked up to their table.
"How may I help y'all," I mumbled as I approached them. Latrell looked up from his phone which a shocked look on his face, and Dave did the same, but with a mug instead. I just rolled my eyes extra hard at him and turned towards my little brother.
"I-Oh fuck. Asia what are you doing here?" He stuttered.
"Latrell I work here. Don't act so shocked to see me nigga. Where the fuck have you been all this time? Talm bout some aSiA wHat ArE yOu DoInG hERe?!" No matter how much I wanted to jump on him and tell him I missed him, I wasn't gonna let what he did slide.
"Damn chill," he responded, "Look we can talk about this later okay."I just sighed and shook my head, pointing between the two of them.
"So how did you two meet then?" I questioned. I was genuinely confused as to where they might have crossed paths before."Wait you know him? This my nigga Dave," Latrell said, introducing us to each other. I just gave him a dirty look.
"Mhm we'll see about him being your homie. I don't want you around people like him." I responded coldly. Dave went to say something smart, but I cut him off quickly. I wasn't in the mood for his mouth. Before I left, I got Latrell's number and texted him my address. We definitely had some talking to do when I got off of work.Latrell~
I dapped Dave before we went our separate ways. He had been acting mad weird ever since we saw Asia at Popeyes. I wondered how they even knew each other. Dave was the the only nigga that I trusted with my life. I met him a couple years back when I got into some shit and got shot. All of my so called homeboys left me, but he stayed with a nigga.I'm not even gonna front, I was feeling nervous about meeting up with Asia after all these years. There was so much shit I had to tell her about and ask her about. I just didn't know how to go about it, or how she would react.
After punching the address she gave me into my gps, I started driving towards her house. I picked up some snacks on the way, and before I knew it, I was parked in the driveway. Asia's car was sitting there, letting me know she was home like she said she would be. I grabbed the stuff from the backseat and walked to her front door, inhaling deeply before I knocked.
30 seconds later she came to the door, pulling me into a warm hug. "Hey Latrell," She said while taking the bag of food out of my hands and closing the door behind me.
"Hey sis." I followed her into the living room and plopped down on the couch after sliding my Jordan's off of my feet. "Your house is nice," I complimented, trying to make small talk."Thanks," she mumbled in response before staring at me for a good amount of time. "You know mom hasn't spoken to me since you left." She said, playing with her fingers and looking off to the side. I chuckled at her in disbelief.
"What?! You're joking right." Her and mom were practically inseparable. There was no way they hadn't spoken for all that time.
"I'm serious. She hates me and she blames me for you running away." I honestly didn't expect it. I mean, I know that she's intense, that's one of the reasons why I dipped in the first place. But I didn't think that she would abandon her own daughter.
"Why did you do what you did Latrell? I need answers." I sat there debating with myself whether to tell her the whole truth or not. I couldn't. It was too risky.
"Honestly," I sighed knowing I was about to tell a half lie, "I was just tired of everything. I was tired of mom controlling my life. I was tired of school. I was tired of living under her rules. I just wanted to go out and do my own shit and make my own bread. I know it was reckless and I'm sorry, but I don't really regret it."
There was definitely more to it than that, but I couldn't let her know. "Yeah, I get that. But it was so dangerous. Anything could have happened to you out there. And then you couldn't even call me to let me know what was going on." She said, getting annoyed.
"I know, but it's not even like I went far. I've been in New York this whole time sis." I said.
"Wait. If you've been here for that long, how the fuck haven't we seen each other before today?" She questioned, confused. I just shrugged my shoulders and popped a big handful of sour patches into my mouth at once.
Asia slapped the back of my head and giggled, "Boy you and that damn candy. Them shits not even nice and you've been addicted to them since you were little." I mugged her and punched her arm playfully.
"Asia don't even try and fight me. Because you know I'll beat ya ass," I warned her.
"Okay, okay chill I need to pee. But when we come back we're watching Rupaul's drag race." She knew I hated that damn show but she made me watch it to be annoying.
Asia dusted the Cheeto crumbs from her lap and then jumped upstairs towards the bathroom, skipping multiple steps. Watch her fall down and bust her ass.
My thoughts were disrupted when the doorbell rang. Since Asia wasn't here, I decided it wouldn't hurt to see who was at the door. It better not be no nigga. When I snatched the door open, I was met with the person I least expected to see.
"Mom?"
