HIS VERSION
He got out of bed trying very hard not to wake her up. She slept like a baby and for the first time in his life, he felt at peace. He felt he was finally home, right here with her.
Last night was amazing, he'd never felt as cherished and loved like she'd made him feel.
He could spend the rest of his life in a Bedouin tent in the middle of the Sahara desert as long as she was with him.
He got into the shower whistling his favorite song. He couldn't wait to spend the rest of the day with his fiancee of twelve hours.
He truly felt that today is the first day of the best days of his life.
He couldn't wait to be the father of her children, to grow old with her.
His best friend was coming back in two weeks. He wished she would come back today so he could introduce her to the love of his life.
She had been acting weirdly ever since he told her about his girlfriend. Infact she left on a backpacking cross country trip the very next day. She's been gone for four months now. He'd talk to her about it when she gets back.
He had the whole day planned. They'd have breakfast, stay home and watch a movie then go out for lunch with her best friend Eddie then back to his apartment for dinner.
He had a lot to thank Eddie for.
He'd met him at college and he'd introduced him to his childhood best friend Iris West, the woman he was marrying in two months.
His phone rings distracting him from his thoughts.
Babe, she called out to him. Your phone is ringing she said.
Answer it,he replied. I can't take it right now he said with a grin.
He heard her answer it and drifted back to planning forever with his soul mate.
About thirty minutes later,he got out of the bathroom but she was not in bed anymore. Maybe she was making breakfast he thought and quickly got dressed.
Babe! He called out as he came down the stairs but she wasn't in the sitting room. He went into the kitchen but she wasn't there either.
He was about to call her cellphone when he saw her ring on the table with a note. He picked it up and read as his heart sank with every word he read.
"Barry,I think we need some space for a while. I'm going on a trip and I don't know when I'll be back. I love you but this is the end of our story."
He picked up his car keys, raced out of the apartment and drove to her father's house like a mad man.
He knocked but no one answered.
Iris, Iris,Honey he called but there was no response.
He sank to his knees as his entire world collapsed and he was plunged into complete darkness because the love of his life, his future wife and the light of his life left him without a word, without a trace........
