Alessandro's POV

"Come on." I held her hand and walked out, dragging her out with me without waiting for her to tell anything.

"Alessandro." She whispered and pulled her hand away as we arrived at the stairs. "OK, I am coming." She informed. I gave her a self-satisfied smile.

We were having dinner when Matteo's started crying. Isabella stood up instantly as she placed her napkin on the chair.

"Don't worry. The housekeeper will take care of him while you are eating." I said.

"No, I will. Matteo doesn't stop crying without seeing me when he wakes up." She explained. I nodded, smiling.

Isabella was a great mother. I was so proud of her. Seeing her with Matteo made me fall in love with her again and again.

"Hey, who is here?!" My father said cheerfully as Isabella walked towards us holding Matteo in her arms. Meanwhile, Matteo was leaning his head against her chest while rubbing his eye.

I smiled as I stood up and approached them.

"Come here, little boy." I cooed Matteo and took him in my arms. "Let's talk man to man while your mother is having dinner." I added and kissed Matteo's head. He sobbed and leaned his head on my chest as he gripped my shirt.

"Alessandro, you didn't finish your meal." My mother stated firmly.

"I am full, Mom." I said, smiling and stroked my son's hair gently.

After Isabella had finished her meal, she approached me.

"Thank you. I will..."

"No. We are fine, aren't we, Matteo?" I cut her off as I cooed Matteo. She nodded, smiling.

My father and Isabella were chatting while I was playing with my little boy. My mother was staring at us, annoyed.

I grinned as an idea came to my mind. I stood up, holding Matteo in my arms and approached my mother. My mother gave me a puzzled look. Isabella and my father stopped talking and focused their attention on us. Isabella bit her lower lip nervously.

"Matteo wants to play with you." I said softly as I extended Matteo towards my mother.

"No." My mother protested.

"Mom, please." I whispered.

My mother breathed deeply in annoyance and took Matteo in her arms. Instantly Matteo's lower lip quivered, and he started crying, extending his hands towards me.

"Take him." My mother demanded sternly.

I gritted my teeth, annoyed and took my crying son in my arms. Matteo gripped my shirt with his little hand while crying.

"Calm down, my boy." I said softly, stroking his back as I gave my mother a dirty look.

I was angry at my mother. It broke my heart when she acted distant towards my son. Yes, she didn't know he was my son, but he was innocent, and he didn't deserve this attitude. Even if my mother acted towards Isabella badly, she didn't have rights to act bad towards Matteo. On the other hand, she should not behave bad towards Isabella as well. Yes, she was suspicious that there was something going on between us, but she should not forget that Isabella wasn't a manipulative bitch.

"I will take him." Isabella mumbled sadly as she approached me and wanted to take Matteo in her arms.

I nodded and gave Matteo to her after kissing his forehead. She held him in her arms protectively and carried him to her bedroom.

My father shook his head in disapproval and breathed deeply. I clenched my fist in frustration and gave my mother a dirty look. I was angry at her. So angry. I frowned and stormed out, slamming the door behind me.

Five months later

I was pacing back and forth in the study room. My mother started her lecture again about why I kept Gaia waiting, blah, blah. I told my father that I couldn't bear to see my mother acting bad towards Isabella. So I wanted to confess about my marriage and my son, but he protested because our security guard informed us that someone from the mansion leaked information about us. They were suspicious about a few of our maids and my driver, but they weren't sure of them. So we still waited before taking any action. My father told me it would be so dangerous for Isabella and my son if Lorenzo found out about them. I couldn't take the risk. If something happened to them, I would never forgive myself.

"Why don't you want to marry soon?" My mother asked, annoyed.

"Because I want that we know each other better before getting married." I lied.

"Or it is because of Isabella?" She said sarcastically and gave me a knowing look.

Yes, it is because of her; I am already married to her and deeply, madly in love with her. I said with my inner voice.

"Mom! It isn't related to Isabella, and please, don't behave bad towards her. She has nothing to do with my decision." I said firmly and left the study room without letting her say anything.

After the company, I went straight to the mansion. I missed my little boy and Isabella. When I arrived, I saw Isabella sitting on the couch in the living room. She was looking at the magazine. I smiled happily and tiptoed towards her. I wrapped my arms around her quickly and kissed her cheek.

"Alessandro!" She exclaimed, scared and beamed at me. "You scared me." She added.

"Sorry, bella mia." I gave her an apologetic look as I grabbed her hand and straightened, pulling her. She stood up, giving me her dazzling smile.

I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her closer to me and kissed her lips passionately.

"Ale, someone can see us." She said nervously and looked around to check if someone saw us.

"I missed you." I confessed as I cupped her cheek.

She smiled and said. "I missed you too."

"How is my boy?" I asked, stroking her cheek tenderly.

"He is fine. He finally fell asleep." She replied, beaming at me.

"Alessandro!" My mother shouted as she approached us, giving Isabella a death glare. Isabella instantly pulled back as the color drained out of her face.

"Mom..." She raised her hand, stopping me as she walked closer to us without taking her eyes off Isabella.

"How many times should I tell you that you stayed away from my son?!" She snapped.
