My head still pounds as soon as I move out of the bed. It's been 4 days since I woke up in the hospital. According to Quinn, I'd been out for 3 days in some type of comatose prior to my waking.
She said I didn't move for 3 days until the dream started. I was shaking and crying while I was asleep, it went on for 5 minutes before Quinn finally woke me up. Though the aftermath wasn't nice at all.
I have a lot of questions about what happened, but Nico's been dodging all of them these past days I've been awake. The two first days I was still in the hospital doing checkups. I've fractured my skull apparently. It caused a lot of bleeding which was why I fainted to quickly and why I was comatose. But no splinters or clogs we're found, so I got released a day ago. But I'm not 100% sure.
When we left the so-called hospital, I realized it was Coveney's private one. There's apparently a whole separate area in the basement that's just a hospital. With educated doctors and all.
"How much do the doctors earn here?" I ask Quinn who's sitting next to me, feeding me with asparagus soup. She grins and tips the spoon into my mouth.
"Around 220 a year I believe." She answers, making me frown. She daps my mouth with the napkin before I can speak.
"220 dollars?"
"Thousand you dumbo." She says and feeds me more. I look at her wide-eyed but instantly regret it as my head pounds loudly, making me groan. "Be careful. You need to rest your head."
I sigh and lean back against the headboard. I've been alone all night these past days. Where Nico's been I have no idea. Apparently, Quinn says he's been in his lair, but it still bothers me that he won't speak more than 30 minutes a day with me.
"What even happened on Saturday? Who was that guy who pulled my hair?" I ask her. She sighs and shakes her head, putting the soup on the table. I smile and gently pick it up myself, earning a frown from her. I wink and start eating the soup slowly myself.
"I'm not allowed to tell you. Nico said we weren't. He wants to." She says as she sits back on the bed. I sigh and keep eating, shaking my head carefully. But he won't freaking talk to me...
She sits silently as she looks at me. I glance at the laptop laying next to me. Nico gave it to me this morning, saying he would make someone get me food throughout the day, and text someone on that laptop if I needed anything.
The doctors strictly told me not to read or do anything too hard while I was in the state I am. But the only thing I really want to do right now is to watch my favorite movie or have a good cry to a sad movie. You know when you just have that feeling where you want to cry, that's me right now. What for I do not know.
"By the way, I've booked my wedding dress appointment. Annie has as well, on different days though, of course. I'll send you a text with further information." She says with a smile. I smile back and nod, taking one final spoon of soup before putting it on the table again.
