~ Part 69 ~ Colby

"Lupa." She whispered. Everyone watched her head roll and the ears forming on top of her head. Her tail slipped out of her shirt and I noticed her nails had grown more into claws. She still looked flawless, if that's even possible. How is it that a vampire such as myself is so goddamn attracted to a werewolf, hunter, witch like Vanessa?

"Woah!" A bunch of the guys sped directly to the back of the room away from her. They were scared and confused as to what was happening while the girls were completely unmoved. They seemed to be mesmerised in some way.

"What the fuck?!" Mike crept forward towards her. I was ready to pounce at him just in case he tried to hurt her or jump at her. I didn't know how they'd react. Vanessa let out a beautiful laugh before she growled at him. The growl sent chills down my spine and a different feeling somewhere else. I ended up sucking in a breath that I knew the others heard. No one said a word until Devyn stood up.

"Can I?" She walked up to Ness, still examining her. Ness just nodded politely at her... friend? Acquaintance? Devyn reached up and practically petted Ness' head as Ness let out a little pur. That also wasn't helping. As if my girlfriend was a huge puppy, Devyn giggled and sat back down.

"Sorry, I don't have control over that yet." Vanessa was blushing widely but playing it off with a little laugh. I turned out of the conversation listening to the car pulling up on the drive. Jade and Cathy's voices were heard talking about... something. I wasn't really paying attention to them either honestly. I noticed Vanessa's ears perking.

"You can hear them?" Elton questioned looking strangely curious and motioning towards the drive. Ness stood there listening for another moment before she ran out without another word. All went silent apart from the two girls opening the front door. Less than a second later, a loud growl echoed throughout the entire house and Jade screamed loudly. Vanessa's loud laugh mixed in with a little bit of a hoarse animal noise made my chest tighten. The guys were all smirking at me.

"You absolute bitch!" I didn't even need vampire senses to hear that she'd shouted it so loud. Mike laughed at his girlfriend then disappeared.

"Was that necessary?" He didn't sound too pleased anymore, maybe putting up a front to piss Ness off.

"One hundred percent." The cockiness in her voice was staggering. Soon enough, Mike and Cathy entered together at vampire speed, sitting down on the couch in their place. The moment Vanessa was back in the room, she fell onto my lap and snuggled into me. God am I crazy for this girl. Her ears slowly turned back human and her heartbeat slowed.
