"These vampires are just as strong if not stronger than you, William." Edward started saying. He was slowly creeping forwards. "And Evelyn, the Lupa could easily take you out. So I'd be careful what you call her." I could feel how nervous and maybe even scared Vanessa was.
"Oh, please!" Evelyn laughed hysterically only to return to normal in a millisecond. "I'd like to see her try." Ness lunged forward but I held her back from the vampires. She's not dying today. No matter what.
"She killed John. She killed him easily." Sam mocked. His face had turned into a large smirk as he aggravated the vampires in front of us. "He must have been weak." Evelyn growled and flashed her teeth again.
"No, dear." William held her back like I was holding Vanessa back. "Hand over the Lupa mad we'll forget you ever tried to go against us." He suggested the worst deal in history. Like I'd let him kill the woman I love just to avoid a little bit of conflict.
"Not gonna happen." Kevin growled at them for me. He stood in front of Ness to stop the old vampires from seeing her.
"Why do you protect her? She's your natural enemy." I didn't even want to listen to them anymore. I just wanted to scoop Ness up in my arms and escape. Her apartment was still safe from them. All I'd have to do was run so fast they couldn't follow.
"You don't understand because you're so close-minded. Those hunters haven't once tried to kill us." Mike said confidently. Vanessa was only more and more nervous behind me. She seemed to be terrified. I wanted to know what she was thinking.
"She killed John. That's all we care about. So hand her over to avoid yourselves a fight right here right now." I was watching the leader of the group so intensely that I hadn't even noticed the one from the end missing. Vanessa growled behind me and everyone spun around to see what was happening. She dodged a claw and staked the vampire. It disappeared into ash, as they usually do. She was already smirking, proud of herself. Okay, she's feeling better.
"You bitch!" Evelyn was beyond angry. She was furious.
"He shouldn't have attacked me alone." She shrugged and stood up completely straight. God I love her. So damn much. I couldn't help myself as I sped to her, my hands immediately holding her waist. She leaned against me and made my chest get tight. I found myself stuck staring at Ness again. I wasn't even listening anymore.
"... and we're older." Was all I heard. Ness looked up into my eyes giving me a sad smile. I tightened my grip on her as I suddenly felt like I couldn't move. My theory was proved right when I tried to move my head. Did she just cast a spell?
