hurricane

And like a hurricane,
you swept me off my feet
then spat me back out
when you were done -
like I meant nothing.

You had a purpose,
to take me whole
then leave me in shambles
like a broken toy -
unloved and deserted.

Because dear, hurricanes like you
were made to destroy, not build.
