I dreamt of you, the dream was wonderful.

I took you to the park, got you strawberry ice cream, your favorite.

You taught me how to use some common sign language, you smiled and laughed when I messed it up. Sometimes I'd purposefully mess it up just to see you smile and laugh.

I never told you this, but you giggled without noticing. And every time you did, I'd smile and glance at you, how you'd bite your cheek when you'd try to become focused again.

We sat at the park bench, you scribbled in your journal while I scrolled through filters.

I now know what you did in that journal, months later. Only a file cabinet with folders can admire your art now, merely evidence for your disappearance and lawsuits against your father.

And as the moon rose, the sun went to sleep. Stars and constellations revealing themselves, you pointed to your favorite star, then I pointed to mine.

And when I walked you home, you smiled at me, your shining crescent eyes reflected the sunset.

I hugged you, caressed your hair and inhaled your scent. You'd giggle once more, pulling away from me.

Then I'd say the words I never got the chance to say,

"I love you princess."

And I could peacefully say goodbye, knowing it wouldn't be the last time I'd see you.

I dreamt of you, the dream was wonderful.

You were wonderful.

You're wonderful Luna.
