Chapter 14 - Late Night Inexplicable Sentiments

Across from GuHai's company there is a café. YanYaJing is there waiting for GuHai.

"How is your mother's condition?"

YanYaJing has lost a lot of weight. Her eyes lacked her normal bright spirits.

"She's not good, the cancer has spread to her entire abdominal cavity. The doctor said even with treatment, it is hopeless. The only thing they can do is reduce the patient's pain and improve her quality of life. During this entire time, my family has been by her side. GuHai said softly, "If that is the case, then you don't need to feel so pained. Just spend more time with her so there won't be any regrets."

YanYaJing forcibly smiled, "My mother nagged me yesterday, asking whether she will be able to see her son-in-law with the time she has remaining."

"Then, you have to grasp the time." GuHai carelessly answered.

YanYaJing gave GuHai a fixed look, looking at the sides of his matured handsome face, thinking of all the days they've been through together and seeing how the company have gone from a small business to its current scale. And she, going from a girl with many suitors to becoming a "leftover" girl in people's mouths. Three four years have passed in the blink of an eye. "Why are you so free today? I asked and you can just come out." Half of DiShuang's face is covered by her collar, bending her head to smile brightly at BaiLouYin. BaiLouYin lightly replied, "Well, it's rare that you have free time and I was just visiting a comrade. He will be discharged from the hospital in a few days."

"Let's find a place to eat." DiShuang said.

BaiLouYin was a bit reluctant, "I still have some work in the military base so I have the head back soon."
