My Own Science (Dr Stone Senku x reader)

After effort comes comfort, and feels

You'd be lying if you said you didn't want to smile when Gen experienced an emotional rollercoaster of his own when Senku took his precious carbon dioxide and used it to make baking soda instead. Little bastard trying to make you all confused and being mad for no reason! Although what he said was thought worthy.

With now everything he needed, Senku was able to make the cure-all, and gave it to Ruri right after. Though he did left a bottle of fresh Cola for Gen. Now that she was in front of him, Senku took this opportunity to examine her.
But in order to come up with solid diagnostic, he took a rat with him back to the HQ, which has been infected by her illness. He dissected it, and figured the illness was the work of a bacteria. But, still unable to put a name to her illness, you were all worried when he shared the possibilities of it being pulmonary tuberculosis.
Before you could dwell on that, Suika reported that Ruri was having another coughing situation, except this time it was even more violent.

"Senku you bastard!" her father shouted, beyond furious. "This is because of that shady drug of yours! If you haven't given that to her then she would've never taken such a sudden turn for the worst!"
He went to grab his neck but you stood between them.
"Hey! Back off! It's nobody's fault!"
"And you! You said you could heal her!"
"Oh now you listen to me huh?!"

"Perhaps you're right." Senku said before things got out of hand, looking over Ruri. "That strain of bacteria suddenly decided it was going to get serious. It's even injected its poisonous genes inside the harmless bacteria around it. It's trying to increase its number for reinforcement." he smiled. "The special technique of the streptocuccus pneumoniae bacteria."
You gasped.
"Pneumonia! That's her illness?!"
"That's right."
"And we got sulfa drug, so...We basically made it!"
He clenched his fist.
"This is a victory for humanity's science! Now that we discovered its identity, it's no longer a threat. We just need to keep attacking it steadily with sulfa drug."

But the previous chief was still fuming.
"You're still going on about that damn sorcery drug you bastard?!"
He pushed you out of the way, making you fall on the floor, and was about to punch Senku when Kohaku blocked his attack.
"Father!" she said. "This is no make-believe sorcery, and this isn't a con! This thing called science is the fruit of humanity's knowledge and wisdom. I believe in science, and I believe in Senku."

As everyone in the room agreed with her, Senku knelt down beside you, who just sat up with a hand on your head.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Yeah I'm good." you smiled. "Sorry I wasn't very protecting..."
"Kukuku!" he smiled and poked your forehead. "Protecting others isn't your job. Quit being reckless, it'll just get you in trouble."
Despite your frown, you could feel your heart beating faster when you saw his smile. You knew he said that out of care for you.

It took a while, but eventually Ruri was able to go outside freely. Her father and Kohaku were in tears. The previous chief gathered the village and stood besides Senku. He took his hand and raised it.

"People of the village!" he shouted. "As of today, this man, Senku, is the new chief of Ishigami village!"
You were about to cheer with the others, but your jaw dropped when he said those last words.
"Huh?" you and Senku said at the same time.
"That's right, Senku." Ruri came up to him. "There's something that I've known for as long as I can remember... Your name, is Ishigami Senku."
"Whaaaat?" was all you could say in front of such a mind-fuck.

You and the gang went up to Ruri's room for some very needed explanation.

"Thanks to you Ruri." Senku said. "I've finally put the pieces together."
"I haven't!" you said. "What the fuck happened?!"
"Kukuku, in all likelihood, within the legends passed down from priestess to priestess, I'm in them."
"That's right." Ruri nodded.
"Wha-th-you-huh?!"
He chuckled, seeing you this confused.
