Chapter 23:

( Monica's POV )

30 minutes before the sun shines, we are already on our way to complete our missions. Four teams are set to collect construction materials, medicines and foods. We are planning to sweep all police stations near the area.

" Monica, Henry and I , will enter first. Stay in the car with Audrey. "

" sige, mag iingat ka. "

I stayed outside the car as look out. Pinapasok ko muna si Audrey sa loob ng sasakyan. May mangilan ngilan freaks ilang metro mula sa amin pero hindi ko nalang pinapansin. Hanggat hindi naaagaw ang atensyon nila hindi sila aatake. We just need to be quiet.

" Bes, sure ka bang safe tayo dito? my God! They are just walking around like creeps! Can't you kill them?? "

" just keep quiet Audrey. Of course i can kill them. However, it's just a waste of bullets. And I don't like to be dirty this early okay?? "

Her mouth shut in an instant pero mapapansin mo pa rin ang nang hahabang nguso nito. Napa iling nalang ako habang natatawa.

I used the telescope to see further. I need to make sure i am not missing something. I don't know why, but i feel like there's something wrong.  This part of the city is weird. All convenience stores were empty. Medyo kaunti din ang mga freaks.

" we're back. This is the second police station and still empty.  "

We looked at each other. Even without words we know that we're thinking the same thing.

" They came in first. Mukhang naunahan na tayo. We don't need to look at the last police station. "

" Alex. Sa tingin mo wala ng Diesel na makukuha sila Ice??  " Henry asked anxiously

" I'm afraid, yes. Those people are survivors, they will collect everything useful to them. "

" what should we do now? "

We both look at Alex. She just shrugged and smiled playfully.

" Don't worry. We still have a lot for a year. "

Sabay sabay kaming tatlo na nakahinga ng maluwag. Pati si Audrey na kanina pa hindi mapakali ay napanatag ang loob.

" we can still go out the city, but not right now. Isa pa, Ice can still collect diesel. Marami tayong nadaanang sasakyan. I'm sure may makukuha sila doon. "

" Oo nga! Medyo matrabaho pero mas okay na yun kaysa uuwi tayong walang dala. " sabat ni Audrey habang nakalabas ang ulo sa bintana. Takot pa ring bumaba ng sasakyan.

" Let's go. We can still go help Lyka's group to collect foods and medicine. Sa mall tayo pumunta. I'm sure yun ang una nilang pupuntahan. "

Sabay sabay kaming pumasok ng sasakyan.

" Alex, pwede ba tayong kumuha ng mga damit? Wala kasing maayos na damit yung mga bagong survivor, nakaka awa sila "

" oo naman. I'll let you choose later "

My eyes shine. Nagkatinginan kami ni Audrey.

' Shopping! '

" i know what your thinking girls hahaha ! "  Alex laughter surrounded the car. It was mellow and sweet. Nakaka relax.

" what are you thinking? " Henry asked suddenly.

" girl ka ba? " Audrey asked playfully making him turn red in embarrassment.
