The trend of rankings happens within many aspects of our day-to-day lives; sports, students, politics, video games, so on... Rankings just existed to make those who weren't in the top 10 feel bad about themselves, really. While the top 10 screamed their rankings to every person they pass by as if the homeless man sitting at Delridge Way really gave a fuck.

Now, I know I said you see rankings within students, but students were the place where it could go either way. Good or bad. Today we would focus on the bad of those rankings.

I entered early morning cheer practice in the usual practice attire. A wedgie forming with every step I took into the small gym and regret filling me the further my panties hiked up. A few of the girls were gathered around Paola, who held a paper while Veronica was trying to calm down a livid Elizabeth. Elizabeth's blotchy red skin and eyes that bulged out more than usual frightened me. By now I should be used to walking into practice and seeing Elizabeth pissed off while Veronica tries to talk some sense into her, but I was surprised each time I walked in on a scene like this because there was always new and irrelevant reason behind her outbursts of anger.

"How did I get ranked 25?!" Elizabeth asked in a fury. "25?! Cassie Wolfe ranked higher than me!" Elizabeth pushed over the bin of pom poms with a loud grunt then began kicking at each pom pom that got in her way.

"It's just a stupid list, Elizabeth!" Veronica shouted trying to mend Elizabeth's hurt feelings.

I shook confusion from my head, walking over to the group where Paola stood center stage.

"Did Calum hook up with Elizabeth's sister again?" I asked, trying to create some comedy as I set down my bag.

"Worse." Paola stated, passing me the sheet of paper. She then crossed her arms as she waited for me to read through the paper.
