Jace's pov

Jace was sitting on his bed with his face in his hands.

They had nothing.

No lead. No fucking clue. Nothing.

And tomorrow is her and Tommy's birthday.

A tear escaped his eye as he felt helpless.

He could very faintly feel his Lionesse in pain.

Very faintly, but still there.

That was because he was STUPID and IDIOTIC.

He didn't spend much time with her to strengthen the bond.

And the worst was that he could barely feel her wolf anymore.

More tears came to his eyes as he bitterly laughed at himself.

The hard, cold alpha he was before she brought the warmth and love back in his icy heart, was sitting helplessly on his bed, crying.

He stood tall and proud in front of his pack, but alone, he released the bottled up emotions of his sorrow.

Crying for a loved one wasn't a shame.

Men aren't made of steel after all.

Men DID cry too and when they did, that meant that they really cared about the person or thing they were crying over.

He snarled in anger and punched the wall, blood flowing from his knuckles, as the thoughts of what that sick bastard would do to his pure beauty tomorrow.

He heard a whimper of fear behind him and quickly turned around.

He saw Ash standing over Tammy protectively.

He must've scared his pups.

Slowly he approached them and smiled gently at them.

Soon, they were in his arms, hugging him tightly.

"I am sorry. I did not mean to scare you" he whispered.

They just nodded, tears in their eyes.

They never seemed to feel happy or energetic anymore.

"Jacy?" Tammy whimpered.

"Yes princess?"

"Why is mommy not here? Did we do something bad? We promise not to do anything bad anymore, but please tell her to come back" Tammy cried.

Jace quickly held her by the shoulders and said,

"No, no, no. She didn't leave because of you. A very bad man took her against her will. But i will bring her back. I will princess."

"You pwomise?" the five year old Ash whimpered.

"I promise" Jace said strongly.

After a while, he stood in front of his window.

He just stared impatiently, waiting for Charles, Reia and Kyle to come back.

They left yesterday to prepare their packs for war as soon as they found the fortress.
