Later that afternoon, Sophie sat at her usual lunch table with her friends. It almost felt wrong though. It had been so long since they all sat there together due to all the battles against the Neverseen.

Keefe was on Sophie's left and Biana was on her right. Not wanting to put up with the awkwardness, she subtlety positioned herself as far away from Fitz as possible.

"Sophie," Biana said. "Were you listening?" Sophie snapped out of her daze. She was thinking about how weird her Telepathy sessions were going to be.

"Sorry," she said sheepishly. "Can you repeat that?" Biana rolled her pretty eyes.

"I asked if you want to come over this afternoon." Sophie bit her lip. She had a lot of homework she needed to finish.

"I don't know if I can," she said. Dex, who was siting across from her, pouted.

"Come on, Sophie! We haven't all hung out together in forever!" He whined.

"Yeah, even Tam and I are coming," Linh added. Tam, true to form, just rolled his eyes. Keefe wrapped his arm around Sophie's shoulders.

"Aw, you know you can't resist us," he teased. Sophie blushed as she shrugged him off.

"Okaaaay. Fine. If I have to," she said dramatically. She smiled. She felt so lucky to have such a great group of friends. Then she realized that Fitz hadn't said a word the entire time. She looked up to find him staring off into space. Sophie sighed, hoping there wouldn't be any drama at Everglen.
