I wasn't asleep
I watch my dad and him from the stairs, talking like old best friends reunited
my mind's blank but full of questions at the same time
his eyes wander around my house for a moment before landing on me
he smiles and a dimple pops out
my eyes widen a little and I feel someone tugging on my heart
I smile back,
not because im being respectful,
but because I know he's real and it's not just my wild imagination attacking reality again
