That night when they got back Bucky was numb. But he did his best to play with his boys. He helped Sydney with getting them ready for bed. Once they went down for the night he went upstairs.
He found Nikki in her room. "Nice to know that you changed it back." He said
She looked down.
He walked over to her he held her waist. "Wanna go eat?" He said
"Bucky its 9 most places close at 9 or 10." She said
"Not the diner." He said
She smiled. "Im hungry Nikki and I want a good juicy burger. And a milkshake and fries. Maybe a piece of pie too. Please come with me?" He said
"Fine.." she said as she grabbed her hoodie to put it back on.
He got his keys out of the kitchen. "Buck..where are you going?" Sydney said
"To the diner..with Nikki." He said
"You dont want me to go?" Sydney said
"Syd..please my dad is dying and right now I just want to eat. Stay here with the boys." He said as Winnie and Joe came in.
He started to leave with Nikki. They went in his truck "Buck if she is.." she said
"Shush..I want you to come eat with me." He said
They finally pulled up in front of the diner. He got them a booth he ordered a double cheese burger with fries and large cherry coke. Nikki ordered herself a double cheeseburger with mozzerella sticks and moutain dew.
After they ate their burgers Bucky got them a large chocolate shake to share. Bucky paid for everything then they left. When they got back to the house he followed her upstairs.
She got changed in her bathroom Bucky stripped down to his boxers.
"Buck?" She said when she came out to see him in her bed.
"What?" He said
"Why are you in my bed? Your wife is downstairs." She said as she got in the bed.
"Oh now you are concerned about my marriage. Where was that 2 years ago." He said
She looked down.
"Im sorry Nikki.." he said as he sat up to her.
He lifted her chin. "It wasn't your proudest moment Nikki." He said
"I have accepted the fact that I will never be yours. I got tired of the universe breaking my heart." She said as a tear drop fell.
He wiped it with his thumb as he rested his forehead against hers. "You remember when your mom died how you hid under your blankets? To forget the world around you." He whispered
"I do.." she whispered
"Can we do that..because I would very much like to forget that he is dying." He whispered.
"Yeah we can." She said
She turned off her lights got back in the bed. They laid there in the dark under her blankets. He had their foreheads together she felt him playing with her hair.
"Ive missed you Nikki..this Nikki not the emo one." He said
"You find me annoying" she whispered
"No only when you act like a baby." He said as he continued to play with her hair.
"Thats all the time then." She said
"No..darlin why did you do this?" He said as he ran his hand up her shirt.
"I just wanted to feel beautiful Buck." She said
"Baby you were beautiful they way you were." He said
"Thats not true." She said
He scooted closer to her "Yes it is..you didnt need implants or lasik." He said as he started to play with her belly button piercing.
"Stop.." she whispered but he cut her off with a kiss.
She began to kiss back as he started open mouth kisses. She felt him slid her panties down. The kisses became more intense as he started to play with her.
She moaned he stopped for a minute he pulled his boxers down. He placed her hand on his semi hard on. "Play with me.." he whispered as he showed her what to do.
He went back to kissing her and playing with her. They were both moaning in the kisses.
"Mmm James..James.." she whispered as he moved down to her neck.
"Come for me..fucking come.." he whispered as he felt her clenching his fingers.
He started to work them faster. "Oh my gosh oh my gosh James James oh oh oh.." she whispered then she felt him swelling then felt his hot spurts hitting her pubic area.
He moaned out her name in her ear. They started kissing again he started to play with her again. He pulled her on top of him he cupped the back of her head as they continued to kiss.
He started to grow hard again below her. They rolled to where she was on her back. She felt his cold dog tags fall against his chest as he kissed her.
He reached down and put himself at her entrance. She gasped as he pushed into her. They kept each other quiet with kisses. He held their hands above her head.
She felt his hips getting faster. Bucky whispered "Oh god Hadley..Hadley ah ah mmm god yes." He whispered in her ear.
She felt him coating her walls as they started to make out. They had another round before they fell asleep. The next morning he woke up holding her still hiding under the blankets.
He pulled his boxers on which woke her up. He kissed her forehead "Shh..not a word baby doll." He whispered
She swallowed hard then got dressed herself. As they walked into the kitchen Sydney said "where the hell were you all night?"
"Aww daddy mama said a bad word." Cooper said
"I know..I slept next to Nikki." He said as he poured coffee.
"But Im your wife James.." Sydney said
"I know who you are. But I dont need you I need her..she is the only one here that knows what it is like to lose a parent. To watch your parent slowly die so Im sorry Sydney but you cant help me." He said as he sat down to eat.

"It's time.." Joe said
It had been three days since everyone learned about James' failing heart.
He had another stroke that ultimately caused him to go brain dead. They all gave one last goodbye then Joe turned off the machines.
That night just like the last three nights. Bucky took it all out on Nikki during sex. She went to school the morning he had to go back to base to finish out his last month and half of his tour.
He kissed her goodbye as she slept.
